Can y'all give me some places to shop for supplies that are reasonably priced? I'm making about 10 roman shades for my house so need a bunch, but I'm not a business so can't qualify for some of the big suppliers. I need roman shade tape, plastic sew on rings, refills for my quilt basting gun, shade ribs and a few other little things. Thanks. |

My first thought is : do you have a Jo-Ann's or Hancocks Fabric near by ? They both have coupons you can get by mail or over the net. Would take awhile I know to get all the things you need but would save some money. Maybe some friends would help you out with some coupons they aren't going to use. Wal-Mart has those produts now. All the fabric depts aren't gone yet. Sould be cheaper there as well. Others might have better suggestions for you. |

If you can use wooden dowels, you might save some $ at Home Depot or Lowe's. The shade tape now includes the plastic rings. I made 2 shades last week and was very surprised when hanging them after they were both finished, to find the needle had left holes through the fashion fabric, lining, and tape so that the light from the window shows through in vertical holey lines! I used a no. 18 needle, thinking it needed to be a heavy one. I wish the holes were not there. sewingbeth |
