Suzie has finally finished her first piece of quilty goodness. She would come round every few weeks or so and do a block unless we had mammoth sewing days in half terms and holidays. I helped provide the designs for four of the blocks - the rest she created herself. A dream to teach , I would tell her something once and she would remember for all time. Susie is in year 7 and I think she is not yet 12. Didn't she do well! http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e81/Janicehodge/IMG_0077.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e81/Janicehodge/IMG_0079.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e81/Janicehodge/IMG_0081.jpg anybody got any idea on how to rotate photos in Photobucket? It was the right way round in i-photo. love and kisses, Jan

I love the batik flower she did in the bottom set - made that last year at school and we snuck it in.

Awesome! If your own daughter's not interested~~ grab someone else's. (Don't know if yours are interested, Jan, but you still have Suzie!) Lennie |

I just purchased 2 new sewing machines for my 2 daughters. They are both doing a sewing course. The youngest whom I taught wouldn't be interested is so excited about everthing that she makes and is shopping at the fabric stores already....The oldest said it's boring...I really taught she would be the one since she is so creative ...Guess I made a mistake there...Oh well can't win them all. |

Thanks Barb - I can rotate the picture -but it doesn't rotate on the thumbnails - does if you go through the album. I is confuddled. Thanks for the kind remarks people - she did good. You know how it is, we started on potholders and it sort of escalated from there. Suzie has also discovered one of the essentials of life - doesn't matter how much material you sew up , you always have more left than when you started with. love and kisses, Jan

Congrats to Suzie, and to you Jan ! ! I know that has to give you a warm fuzzy feeling when you look at that youngster and see how you have planted a seed in another young mind.. That young lady will never be bored when she has a skill like that for company.. Kudos to you, BOTH ! !
