Today is our anniversary and I'm still in shock. Hubby asked me to take a day off of work and he took a vacation day too. We went riding around, shopped a little, stopped and took a walk by a covered bridge, and went out to lunch. We haven't done anniversary gifts in years. We just usually go out to dinner. Too close after Christmas and DD's birthday. But guess what he went and bought for me? A hot pink ipod. He said Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine's Day. I don't know why he thought of that. Maybe because I sometimes borrow our son's ipod when I go walking. I'll take the ipod over jewelry anyday. Anyway, I thought it was sweet and we had a very nice day. |

That's good to hear. I'm with you - jewellery doesn't really excite me. The ipod showed that he put a bit of thought into what you would really enjoy and get a lot of use out of. He's earned back a few brownie points there - maybe he's not a villian - he was just having a few thoughtless days. In the end, even if he doesn't particularly care about the cat (don't understand it myself) at least he really does care about you. Much more important.

Yes, his ears must have really been burning lately. He has earned a few brownie points back today. He was even nice to Cupcake today. But he did call him a faker. He jokingly said the cat was faking so he could stay inside the house. Then he whispered (loudly) to the cat that he had better keep using the litter pan if he knows what's good for him. As long as he's at least that nice, I'm happy. |

Awwww that's sweet. Just when you could bite their heads off they get nice on you and make us melt. I bet that cat will wind out winning his heart before it's over. I wish mine would do a turn around. He's hardheaded when it comes to animals in the house. He don't like the fact that the animals rub their butts on the carpet and the grandkids come in and lay on the carpet where their butts have been. I guess he's right if you get technical about it but I love animals. Except Lizards. I can do without them.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

My grandson has two mice. One has been on the loose for several days. Last night I turn around and there is the cat with the mouse in his mouth. Head sticking out one end and tail out the other. I let a scream outta me and grandson came running. Said mouse is now back in his cage. Two dogs, one cat and two mice. That is enough for me.

The cat was just helping out, Mary. I have a whole herd of new outdoor pets. We've been feeding the squirrels peanuts on the patio. Lucy the dog loves to lay there and watch them through the glass door. They sure like the peanuts. If there aren't any out there you can see their little tracks in snow right up to the door looking for breakfast. They like sunflower seeds too but only after they finish off the nuts. There is one that climbs the screen just jumping height for Lucy (a Jack Russell so she jumps) and watches her right back. Dorothy |

Mary I laughed about you screaming when you saw the cat with the mouse in its mouth. My dog likes to dig the gophers out of our back yard and she sometimes brings them in the house to my dh. One morning she brought one in and it was still alive. Yucckkkk!!! We feed the birds and the squirrels eat the bird food. We can't let the dog out when the squirrles are eating because she loves to chase them up the tree. Patsy Patsy
