As many of you may know, there was a very rude poster on the sewing blog poll. I have deleted her post as well as my own. It has no place on a poll here.

She was obviously very unhappy about something. What exactly, I don't know. Maybe just the February blues. In my response to her I mentioned that I would be retiring soon. This is true, but not in the immediate future.

I apologize if I upset anyone, it was just a moment of discouragement for me. I tried to unsubscribe the poster from all SWN newsletters. There is no one listed with her email address. Not only that but Quilt Tip newsletter hasn't been around for over a year. She is going to keep receiving things from SWN until I can find her original email address. So, if you hear from her about my ignoring her message, this is the reason why.

People can be very brave hiding behind a keyboard. I have been dealing with this type of problem for over seven years now. Usually it is dealt with and forgotten. It was a moment when I was both tired and fed up. We all know how that feels.

Thanks very much for your understanding. I appreciate you all more than you will ever know. The family of Sew Whats New will continue to thrive and flourish for a long time to come.

Thank you Mary!!!
I don't know what I would do without this site. It is a release for me when I need it & a place for all of us to share our joys & sorrows without anyone judging us. I know if I ask for advice I will get honest staightforward answers. Some I might not agree with but I know they are all given with love.

Take a deep breath, Mary.............Repeat after me:

Water off a duck's back, water off a duck's back...........

We all know that there are just people out there like that. We've all had to deal with them. You wonder what makes someone nasty, bitter and unhappy enough to have such disregard for other's feelings.

Reminds me of the time one of my cats was lost. I put an ad in the paper and got a call at 5:30 a.m. from a guy saying he had my cat. Said he had to work but would call me later that night so I could pick up the cat. I asked for his address and phone #. He gave me fake ones and I of course never heard from him again.

Some people just get their kicks that way.

Thankfully the cat showed up when some nice person called a couple of weeks later. (Dang cat was gone 9 weeks and came back fatter than when he left! :re: )

Mary - I'm very glad to hear that you are hanging around. As the mother of the SWN family just try to think of the poster in question as a toddler having a tantrum and stamping her feet. She probably doesn't know any better.

We all know and appreciate the good work that you do and love you for the person you are - hopefully the negative feedback doesn't come too often or get you down too much - if it does just let us know and we'll try to help you get through it. For any of your unhappy members just remember that there are hundreds if not thousands of very happy ones indeed.

Mary, when I hear from people like that I try to remember the line from The Four Agreements ... (pardon me if I'm misquoting a bit) that 90% of what people do or say has to do with THEM not you. Hang in there!

Mary it must be what you said the Feb blues. The lady who owns the quilt shop I go to has been having the same problems with people. You can't please all the people all of the time and only some of the people some of the time. I'm for one you please all of the time. Don't sweat the angry women, obviously she is having some problems herself and you were the person she released her anger on. See that....... you helped her and didn't even realize it. See how wonderful you really are. LOL :bg:
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I am quite new but I think you had better change that ratio to 1000:1. I love it here and i am glad i missed miss scratchy pants whining, but rest assured we're all grown ups enough to know better!

I missed it too. Sorry you had to deal with that Mary.
I hope you stick around here for many more years. I don't know what I'd do without these boards.

Oh Mary, I am so sorry you had to deal with that situation. We love you  very much and don't know :nc: what we would do without these boards to bring me back to sanity:whacky: or a state somewhat close to that. I was battling Strep throat this weekend and pretty much hybernated from Thurs to Sunday. Spring is on the way....

Oh, Mary, you of all people should NOT have to put up with people like that. I appreciate you so much for maintaining this site. I have learned so much and have made new friends along the way.

Thanks ever so much, Jay
