Hi there everyone, just found this site. I am passionate about sewing, particularly dressmaking with emphasis on pattern alteration and fit. I also enjoy patchwork but get very little time for it lately. I have been teaching dressmaking for about 10 years, first in Perth, Western Australia (you'll all have to find it on a map now!!!) and then i started a school in Sydney last year. I am a Palmer Pletsch teacher and think that it is the best method I have found. Just like the plumber with dripping taps I dont have much time to sew for me these days and am always desperate for clothes! I love being a member of the Australian Sewing Guild where i can just go and sew, not having to teach or run the class. I turn 50 next month, have remarried 2 years ago to a wonderful man who never had known a sewer before - what a shock for him. I now live in Sydney, attend Hillsong church and love my life.

cheers
Marea

Hi Marea, Welcome to SWN - it's a great site with really friendly people - from beginners right through to advanced. I'm also from Australia - Melbourne though - and there are a few others. Hope you enjoy being here with us.

Hi Marea,

Welcome to the gang. Sounds like you may be helping a lot of us out with our numerous queries and problems. :bg:

I'm 50 also, married happily for the second time (10 years now) and don't have to look Perth up on a map since I have relatives there and also in Nhulunbuy (sp?) and in Leschenault. I did however, have to look up Melbourne for Pauline. :bg: (Boy, she's waaaaay down there.)

Hope to see you here often.
