Hello all!

It's been a long time since I've been on the forum. What happened was simply I bought a new computer about a year back and lost all my links. About a month ago I was searching for a sewing forum and low and behold this site came up.

I can't tell you how happy I was to find it again.

I took a year off from sewing. I needed the break. It was getting to the point every time I turned around I had someone knocking at my door wanting to fix their clothes. Mind you I didn't mind it so much but it started taking away from what I was enjoying and that was sewing. So I put the sewing machine up for the year and I have started getting back into it. It feels good. I hope this time I don't get bogged down with people knocking on my door this time. I'd rather sew for the love of it then trying to fix everyone's clothes.

I'm currently working on a number of projects they keep my busy aside from all my daily things that I do.

Hi, it is nice to meet you. Do you ever sew for your boys? About the only thing I can make for my son is pj bottoms. I tried the boxers, but after a short period of time he decided he didn't like the "home made" kind.

Welcome back! Know what you mean about people asking for adjustment. Every time I go back to my family, everyone asks me to hem their pants. I do it from time to time... But I'm also learning to say no. Gently, but firmly. :bluesmile

I have made boxers for my oldest, He likes them. I've also made a coat for him which will be passed to my youngest. Shirts, pj's and the likes I have made as well. I think the one project that I really enjoyed was making a backpack for my youngest when he went to school for the first time. He loved the backpack.

Hi All,
Not sure if I am doing this right cannot work out how to introduce myself so used the reply option. Apologies if this is wrong not very computer minded. My name is Denise and I live on top of the Mendip hills Nr Cheddar Gorge, Somerset in the U.K. I made a really good friend by purchasing books from ebay from your great sewing mad country. She lives in Texas and I came over for a vist last year. You really are lucky as sewing is enjoyed and supported more in America. I sadly have nobody here who enjoys sewing so nobody to learn from. I have a Brother Innovis 4000 which is new to me having had a Designer 1 before. I sold that as moved and had to store things for a while, so just getting back into sewing again. Have njoyed this site for all the time I had no machine so thought now was the timeto join in. Would love to hear from anybody. Thank You, Denise.

 Hi ! I am sorry you have no one near to learn from. Perhaps you can meet some great helpers here. I just joined too. It seems like a wonderful place to share and ask questions. The place where you live sounds really interesting! I would love to get over there some day to see the UK. Once again, welcome

Hi Susan and Denise - welcome. And welcome back to FoxyShorty. I'm new myself since you were here last.

Denise if you want to start a new thread (to ask a question or start your own introduction) - go to the main topic board. Go into the topic of your choice and click on the start new thread button which is just above the list of posts on the left hand side.

You have to enter a subject in the little box above the main writing bit (like the technical terms). Other than that it's pretty much like replying. If it still isn't clear just reply to this message and I'll try and make it easier. Or send somebody better at explaining to help.
