Hi! I'm new here, and finally got the chance to log on after joining. So, I just want to introduce myself, post a little information and such!

I love all visual arts. I major in drawing, especially portraits, and I'm a college-level reader. I also love to write, and want to some day publish, as well as run a studio to teach and help produce artists of all sorts. If there's one think I really love, set aside the latter mentioned items, it's fashion, and simply making things. When I was young (well, younger) I liked to take things apart, which gave my parents a hard time. And I always managed to rebuild them into something I'd love, although they would see no use for. I love to work with a needle, and in our spare time, me and my friend enjoy designing outfits. My best friend wants to be a model and make her own clothing line, while I want to be an artist in all forms.

I joined this site with the hopes to learn some sewing techniques, as well as learn into more detail about fabrics, and where to start when it comes to making patterns, taking measurements, ect. I also just love to chat. ^_^

Right now, my main focus is highschool (I'm a freshman) and the sad thing is that as you get older, things get tougher. I spend a lot of time trying to avoid drama and calm down, when I should be doing homework. And an even worse amount of time looking for what to wear, or completely fawning over an outfit I want that my parents would demand straight A's for me to get. My mom already rejected my wanting to start actually putting together my own outfits, although I can be ornery. Even if I don't stick to something, I think it provides a good experience to at least try. You always learn something. So, I'm pretty much on my own when it comes to learning exactly what to do, getting the money, ect.

Well, I believe I've said enough, or more, just wanted to pop in and say hello. ^_^

Howdy Floppsy, welcome to SWN. You will get a lot of good advice here - search for something first before posting a question as a lot of things are already covered...you should check out craftster.org - you'd love some of their makeovers
