If everyone could please say a prayer for my grandson. He is 12 and was mauled by a saint bernard mix dog last night. He has several cuts on his neck and back. The dog busted a blood vessel less than an eighth of an inch away from his carotid artery. He has 6 stitiches in his ear and on his leg. They could not sew up the hole in his hand for fear of infection. He is very sore and very lucky to be alive. The dog had not had his shots. We have custody of him and his brother and sister. Their mother had them last night and took them over a friends house who was keeping the dog for a relative or someone. All I know is my grandson was dragged and chewed on. The dog was on a chain and all he did was run by going to the swing set to play with his brother and sister. They have had to send the dog away to test for rabies. We are hoping he doesn't have to have shots. Sorry this was so long a post. Thank you for your prayers.

You would think that a St Bernard would be a good dog with children but it's not, they are the worst I have been told to attach people. One attacked the mailman one time and sent his to the hospital. The man next door had to take a 2 X 4 peice of wood to fight him off the postman and then drag the postman in his house and call 911. He had 86 stitches in his body from that dog. You grandson is in my prayers. Thankfully he's alive. I get so mad when I see people with dogs that are known to be vicious and let them run or have them where they can get lose. Why have an animal when you have to keep it pened up, get rid of it if it's a thread to people. I hope they put that dog down, if it were a little child it could have killed them. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I'm praying for the dear boy also. and for You I know you are heartbroken. I can hardly bear to think of the childs fear and pain from such a traumatic encounter. GrandmaC
