YAY! These are so fun to make and went together so much easier than I thought.

I'm so glad I found this site, b/c it lead me to this pattern and the sewing tips posted here really helped.

I only cut a 1/4" seam allowance and sewed the "petals" together on my serger. I made two, the one pictured is the smallest size for my 2 year old and her big sister's matches. So fun! The lighting is off in these pictures. I'll try to take some of the girl's wearing them soon.

Wow! That is so cute. What little girl wouldn't love spinning in that skirt.

Great job! Lennie

I've got the fabric all lined up for the next two. I can get a skirt for each girl out of a half yard of 5 fabrics. The next set will be red, white & blue :)

But first I have to sew my son's Ottobre purple short pants. I'd rather do the skirts, but his birthday is a week away and I'm thrilled he still wants me to sew for him :) Can't find much rtw clothing in bright purple for boys

Wow! I'm drooling, but at the same time saying no no no no I can't do anything new until I finish what is started, and make the bazillion other projects that I have rattling around in my brain.

I love that skirt! Thanks for taking a pic of it from that angle. I've seen them made and modeled but never quite understood how they actually went together-your pic makes things very clear. I'm going to have make one for my 4 yr old dgd!

Aww, thanks, I'm glad my picture was helpful

My friend pointed out that its a lot like choosing fabrics for a quilt.

OneHipGrammie ~ I used my serger, I went pretty slow, and repositioned as needed to get the curves together, I was really amazed at how easily it went together. HTH

LoveSewin ~ I saw it here first and then googled for it: Studio Tantrum: Redondo skirt. If you google you'll come up with places to buy it, I bought mine from ebay. Look for Studio Tantrum: hermosa too, that is the matching jacket.
