I am new to foums. I was online looking for help about pre shrinking flannel for a baby blanket and happen to come across this forum. I found it very helpful as well as entertaining! I love to quilt. I have made some childrens clothes as well.

Hi Sabrena, welcome. I prewash my fabric if I'm making a baby quilt but I have discovered that it works out well if I'm making receiving blankets out of flannel to just serge around the edges without washing. The thread shrinks with the flannel and I've not had any problems doing it this way. Check out all our sections-you'll find lost of great info here! Lyn
