Hi, I am looking for a quilt frame pattern for free if I can get one.I would like one that is big enough that 4 or more people can get around it at once.I will be building this mostly by myself so I dont want anything to hard.I did try the chair thing but didnt like that!! any ideas would be great Thanks kim Kim

I'm assuming that you want to have 4 people hand quilting on the same quilt. What did you mean about trying the chair thing? My mother and grandmother used to use 4 eight foot 1"x2" or 1x3 boards. They would use 4 C clamps to clamp them together. They would roll the quilt on the boards as it was quilted. If you want more info, just let me know.

My mom and I had the same kind of quilt frames as Judy described. We used to put them on the back of chairs to hold the frame. And yes it did slip off from time to time. My husband since made four wooden stands to hold the frame. What I like about them is that they are each made out of two pieces of wood that are slid together and interlock. Easy to take a part and store that way. If this is something you are interested in let me know and somehow I could get a pattern for you. J Jay
