Now I thought it was Thoroughly Modern Millie. Is there a Red Riding Hood in that?? You can def make this tonight. I tried to type instructions a few times and couldn't get the wording right. Still trying.
Start with the hood. Lay your winter coat flat on one side over a piece of paper, and trace the hood, whatever style it is, but do make it a good deal larger. I think a looser hood is more recognizable for Little Red. Cut 2 and make a simple seam all the way from the top around the back to the bottom. Now the cape. Fold your fabric in half the long way. Now, you're going to cut along the fold, halfway down the length. This is the opening in the front of the cape. Fold this in half the other way, so now you have it folded twice, once in each direction. Go to the corner with all the folds, and cut a quarter circle out, like a big piece of pie, maybe 4 inches at each end?). When you open it all out, there should be a circle cut out in the middle, and the slit down the front. Gather the bottom of the hood as much as you need to in order to sew it into the circle you've cut. Once it's on, maybe you can get someone to mark a hem for you to make it even all around, or maybe a little shorter in the front. Finish ends as needed(So nice to do this with fleece b/c there is not need to hem, etc) And maybe sew on some ties at the neckline. I am certain there's a more sophisticated way. That's the best I can do on short notice ;) break a leg

Oh my goodness--someone else posted something very similar earlier today! Check this out, b/c she managed to say it in half the space. I hope one of these explanations gets you going in the right direction. hooded towel (http://sew-whats-new.com/vb/showthread.php?t=21697)

Lol, The play was Friday and Saturday Night, went well * I was in charge of lights, costumes, sound, and running crew, And they all did verywell. ANywho, This is for another play I am in tomorrow called Fairytale theatre-- We go around to local elementry schools proforming fairy tales! I'm red.. OKay, So I tackled that cape in like five mins. I did do the hood thing * with my hoodie, I don't have a winter coat?* Anywho, I wish I would HAve read this before going at it, Because I just sewed the hood onto a long strip of fabric and it looks like Superman...The circle thing is a lot simpler, i should have though of that.. Anywho, Thanks for the help, I know what to do now..
