I am looking for fabrics which have dinosaurs on them and which would be suitable for a quilt. There are many brocades which have the oriental theme and some of them would work. But, would the brocade be a good fabric to use in a quilt which will be used a lot?

Do a search - "dinosaur" and a list of fabrics at different shops come up.

If the quilt is going to be used by a child.....I would stay away from the brocade. The rule of thumb (and we all know rules can be broken....but I'm giving it anyway).... is to use fabrics of similiar weight fabrics together in a quilt, otherwise, you will need to stabilize your fabrics. The reason is because your quilt will end up hanging differenly and the heavier fabrics will stress the lighter ones at the seams. Think of crazy quilts and the use of all the different weight fabrics.....usually a foundation fabric was on the back.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Patty 22. The quilt is for an adult male. But, he will probably be almost as rough on it as a child!!! Thanks for the fabric search addresses! I never know where to look for things that will be time efficient.
