Hi there! My name is Marsha. I am 54 years old and have been sewing since I was 9. I finally bought myself a decent sewing machine 3 years ago, Bernina Artista 145. Now I'm on the road all the time and have no time to sew! We moved into a small duplex and my sewing room is now part of the master bedroom. After looking at some of the pictures of the sewing rooms on line, I rushed out and bought shelves and pattern boxes and organized my space. Now I can find my sewing machines! I also have a serger, Bernette. Maybe that will inspire me to get off the computer and get some sewing done. I also love to knit and I'm going to be reteaching myself to tat. Haven't done that since I was a teen. :bolt:
Oh yes, I forgot. I also love to quilt!

Hi Marsha from sunny California!

Boy, you'll fit right in! I too sewed all the time for years and then just stopped for years pretty much. Dh buying me a beautiful embroidery machine got the ball rolling once again and I'm now in a place where I have the time to sew. It's like I'm catching up for all of those lost years.

Hope to see you around, Lennie

Hi Marsha, glad to have you join us! I like to sew-mostly for my 4 grandkids and quilt, occasionally crochet, and do several other crafts too.

You'll like our group-welcome!

Hi Marsha,

I am also new...however, I cannot really say I can sew...YET.
I am in Zephyrhills...just outside of Tampa.

I believe I am going to learn a lot here...plus make some terrific friends.

Looking forward to seeing you around.

Hey welcome all you Floridians. Maybe I should consider moving back to South Florida. Sounds like I'd have a lot of sewing buds down there now.

It is so great to hear from you all! I am glad for all the responses. You make me feel so welcome! Speaking of Live Oak, I was just up there a couple of weeks ago! Maybe next time I'll look you up and we can "do lunch!"

Works for me! I'd like to find "sewing buddies" around here but most of the ladies quilt around here and I mostly garment sew.

Help! :bang: I got my sewing area set up in the bedroom and now I need some motivation! I have too much fabric and not enough time! If I ever got off the computer, I probably would find a few minutes ... we all know how that is! I used to work on one project at a time; now I lose interest and move on to something else. Do any of you ever experience that?

malsews, set a timer for 15 minutes, go into your sewing room, and stay there until the timer goes off. A project will most likely jump right out at you. If not, try it again.

Great idea!

Just got my brand new dress form today! Got it all set up and personalized. Now I'm dragging out all my fabric and draping it over the form. Hmm....:re:
