Hi there! I signed up for this site nearly a month ago, but there was a problem with the confirmation email. I'm just now signing in for the first time, tho I have been reading MaryW's emails for awhile. I'm from Missouri, and have been sewing since high school, which is a lot longer ago than I care to remember I like to garden, sew and play on the puter, and my time is divided between those hobbies with the puter winning a lot more than I want to admit . . . . I have sewn quite a lot over the years, for myself, for my daughter when she was home, for my husband, sewn a few items for friends & family and now get to enjoy making things for my granddaughters, ages "almost 9" & 10. I tried piecing quilts when I was in my 20s and hated it, but find myself drawn back to that now, so have been experimenting a little. I just finished a simple square block baby quilt for my great niece which went over really big at her baby shower. Since I'm from a huge family, I expect I'll get orders for more of those in the future. Right now I'm in the midst of making some curtains and hope to finish them today. I also work 3 days a week, caring for a toddler, tho sometimes I get the week off (like this week) and get to play -- as in run around with my sis-in-law . . . . oh yeah, housework comes somewhere in there Look forward to getting to know everyone and reading lots of good ideas on this site. Hi Leah, You'll fit right in. Sounds like you've got a good but busy life. Grandmother doesn't mean "retired" and baking cookies all the time anymore, does it? Hope to see you around. Lennie |

No, "Gramma" isn't retired & baking cookies, tho I could go for the retired bit! . . . . though, I am blessed to have my granddaughters close enough I can go visit them, and also the time to do so, even tho I work part time. |
