I am from Slidell, LA which is just east of New Orleans. I've been sewing since I was 12. I loved to make most of my own clothes, especially dance dresses (formals) when I was in high school. That was 38 years ago! Now my interest is in machine embroidery. My favorite is Martha Pullen CD's. I am currently working on a "Mommy's Helper" quilt. It's coming out real cute. I work full time as a nurse/office manager for my husband's medical office. That keeps me very busy, so I have to squeeze in sewing in my limited spare time. I'm glad to be part of this sewing group and look forward to chatting with others about sewing!

Welcome, Diane! I wish I had learned to sew when I was younger. I hope you will help newbies like me!

I am new to your sewing circle. I also am glad to have found your sight. I have been sewing since Junior High. However, there were times when I had to stop because of full-time work and motherhood. I am retired from my full time job as a social worker. Because my son is in graduate school I work part-time in our public library system. I enjoy that very much and bug the librarians who purchase books and videos to order the most recent materials. I also try to educated them that Nancy Zieman is not the only one publishing good material. I was reading about your post on patterns now I know why I haven't used one in a long time. I usually recreate sweatshirts or make dresses with a t-shirt I like.

Hope you all have a nice day and think Spring.
