wow, I haven't looked around yet but I'm never going to be any use here I think! I'm afraid, all I can do at the moment is make trousers (pants) and only then, with elasticated waists...

Oh well. Nice to meet you all. I have a cheap, second-hand sewing machine and lots of enthusiasm to learn to sew! lol, my son is just 12 weeks old and we don't have much money but fabric is cheap and I'd love to learn how to make him some cute clothes

:)

Sudo, you know more than I do - I haven't even tried to make trousers. Before you know it a question will pop up and you will know how to answer it.

Congratulations on your new baby, and enjoy being a mom!

Oh, welcome to the boards, and feel free to jump in anywhere!

I haven't even tried to make trousers.

Thanks guys :)

Temom, I don't know if it's any use but this is where I learned how to make them.

http://handyprojects.blogspot.com/2005/04/how-to-make-easy-kids-pants.html

It took me ages mind, I must've made 20 pairs before I got a pair that were ok. Even then, I must have made another 20 pairs before I could do it with any confidence.

Now if only I could make tops to match them! hehehe

Happy Mothers day to all btw! :bg:

Thanks, Sudo, those are great directions - I even understood them! I'm going to try this with a pair of shorts. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well they had to be easy if I could do them! I liked the slideshow too
