Oh, just rub it in. It's only 7:20 here and I still have to wait 40 min. It's so unfair. But see, I peeked, didn't I???

I was only going to take a careful look between squinty eyes like you do at a scary movie......
.....Really! :bg:

My take without seeing anything. I like the lineup. It's a good diverse group. I'm so ready to really, really dislike Ms. Heather "I'm such a snob and Paul's an ass." Mills. Didn't care for her anyway and this morning I read a scathing article about her in the regular paper saying this show is her way of ingratiating herself with the American people since the British can't stand her. Here she can be famous because she was married to a famous person. But I think the Americans love Paul as much as the Brits so we'll see.
Meow! I'll retract my claws now.

I'll be back in the morning........Thanks for starting the thread up again.

Well, where is everyone? I know we had more watchers last year....I am wondering if they are American Idol fans....Anyways here is who I think will be the first to go...Billy Ray Cyrus,,,even John Ratzenberger was way better than him.... I like Cheryl and Ian, and Joey Fatone is a great dancer too....Just my 2 cents...

I'm an Idol fan also, but the shows are on at different times... I like Ali's daughter. I think it is time that a woman won. :dave: Yep, Cryus will be the first to go. Lisa Gibbons isn't all that great or the other really tall one. (Don't know most of their names). Missed Miss Heather as I was getting my laundry out of the machine. This should be interesting as to who improves cause I found most were worse than Joey & Mario on their first night.

Hi, I enjoyed watching last night and dh even watched with me for a while. I promised if he did I wouldn't tell anyone. And here I am telling you.

Absolutely, Billy Ray (what's with the hair?) is another Tucker Carlson.

I liked Ali's dd too. She's a big girl. I liked Paulina the real tall girl. I thought she had potential. Ian and Joey and Anton were all good, Heather was okay. I thought John Ratz. was fun a la Jerry Springer but with more talent.

Interesting bunch. I think we'll be waving bye-bye to Mr. Cyrus next Tues. for sure.

Lennie Can't wait for the next show.

I started watching this in the middle of last season, and now I'm completely addicted!

I love Joey, Paulina, Anton, Ian, and John.

I think Billy Ray might be first to go, although Leeza Gibbons wasn't much better (and I like her!). Should be interesting to see how well they do next Monday. I hope Paulina really works on her moves 'cuz I really like that girl!

I didn't watch because I was feeling sick, so I just waited for my Tivo to record it, and it DIDN'T! It locked up and I didn't know it, so I didn't reset it. :bluesad:

GDL, don't worry, they are supposed to have another show next Monday where everyone dances then someone will get the boot on Tuesday. They only had 4 weeks (instead of 6) practice before last week's performance.

Maybe I'll set it to record on ALL of the Tivos, plus the DVR in the livingroom. One of them is bound to record it! (Yeah, I can just see my husband's face if he tries to watch something in his den and it says "can't change channel because it's recording 'Dancing With the Stars'!")

I usually like Billy Rae but he was awful this week. What was with his hair. Looked like he never washed it and his outfit. Baggy pants and shirt hanging out. The others looked so neat and tidy compared to Cyrus. Think his dancing would look better if they cleaned him up. He always looked good when he played Doc. jessie s

That's my favourite show, the only one I hate to miss. Even had hubby watch it with me last season. I agree, I think Billy Rae will be gone first, at least he should be. Not fond of Ms. Heather either. But I think Lizza (s?) will do better next week. The judges do seem to be harder on the female dancers, don't they. Elly

Hey, not the enthusiastic group we had last time???

I watched last night and will tonight also. Billy Ray surprised me. I guess he surprised the judges too.

I'm liking Leila Ali more and more. She's good. So's Joey Fatone. Just don't expect it from him and then wow!

Leeza's wooden and so is Clyde.

Hard to tell. We were all so sure Billy Ray was going tonight but he's got a heck of a fan base. So does Clyde apparently.

Other opinions?? Hate to be critical. I think I'd be lucky to just not fall on my fat face! :bolt:

Hi Lennie!

I watched last night too, can't wait for tonight. I think either Billy Ray or Clyde should get voted off first, but I think it will be either Leeza or Shandi...neither of them are very good either. And it seems as if the men on the show aren't judged as harshly. JMO. :bg:

I love Ian Zeiring, Joey Fatone, Apolo Ono, and Leila Ali...that girl can dance! She's not real skinny either. I like that about her, too.

My other favorite is Paulina, I have always loved that woman's sense of humor and lack of uppitiness. I think she's quite elegant and graceful, and has a lot of potential to be great on this show.

Time will tell.

I give them all credit for trying. I could never do it! I broke both my legs a couple of years ago and now have permanent damage to one of my ankles...makes me appreciate what Heather is doing! Although, I still think she's a bit of a cold fish!!

Yep I watched too. Billy Ray surprised the dance shoes right off my feet!! :bg: He was so much better this week than last that I can't see him going this week. It has to be Clyde or...Barbie & Ken :dave:. I don't think that they are the same caliber as the others.

It should be a very interesting show tonight and from the dancing last night, an interesting season.

I watched last night. I think it will either be Clyde or Billy Ray. If not a guy than the former Beauty Queen, whatever her name is.

I really like this seasons group. They seem to be stepping up to the challenge better then past groups.

I really like this group of dancers too, very diverse and lots of talent...My favorite will always be Cheryl, she just has to crack her whip with Ian. I think Anton, Joey and Laila are super great as well. I am not giving the first loser away in case Lennie cheats and checks. ROFL....hahaha, but I will say I was surprized.....:whacky:

I tell ya, Billy Ray and Clyde have the fan base.

Watching the recap show beforehand I have to say that Joey impressed me so much. He and Anton.

They've got the music in their feet. And Leila is so elegant despite her size.

Hi Sewhappie,

I didn't see the magazine cover, but are you sure it was Laila? Her sister Khaliah is a former model and now fashion designer with a number of Simplicity patterns that carry her name.

I like a lot of the dancers this season, as much for their dancing as for their attitude. Some of them have a great sense of humour, and if that is combined with a good effort on the dance floor, then they are fun to watch.
Take care,
Donna

Okay, really, was anyone surprised?? Not me. :re:

Have we already lost interest gang?? I was expecting a post early this morning.

I love watching Apollo and Julianne. They are so adorable together. What a darling face and figure she has.

What was it with the Star Wars dance? And then to dance it again? Joey's good but I guess I just like it more traditional. Loved the part about it being a stinky cowboy's dance! lol lol lol

Clyde and Billy Ray should have gone week's 1 and 2 but I'm thinking maybe John is next?? Or Leeza although the judges like her. Her dress was nice but I thought that hat and earrings just looked silly.

JMHO, Lennie

Lennie, I am laughing my you know what off right now. I thought they said his THUMB stuck out too...and I did the same thing!! Checked it again...couldn't see a thumb sticking out. tee hee When I realized what they actually said, I sat there all alone and laughed at myself!

I was shocked that Paulina was first to go! I think she was probably right that she just didn't have the fan base. Not surprised to see Shandi go. She should have been first. I can't believe Clyde is still there. He seems like a very nice man, but he can't dance!

I hope Leila gets back her groove next week. I really like her. Ian is my other favorite. I'm not surprised Joey can dance, he had to do alot of that in NSync, afterall. He's good too, but I didn't like that Star Wars dance, at all. And Leeza's hat DID look awfully silly.

I'm looking forward to next week. Maybe there will be some more surprises.

Well Sandy, you're smarter than me. I never did realize it was "bum".

How funny! You made me laugh so hard again.

When they get down to fewer contestants do they reduce to 1 hour? I don't remember.

Clyde's there and will stay there for a while because he's bigtime in basketball. I'd never heard of him but dh sure has. Clyde does seem so out of place; so humble.

They sure do milk it for all it's worth but I guess you can do that with the second most popular show on the network.

I agree with everyone about them dragging it out!!!! If there was something else on TV I'd just tape it and playback just the last couple of minutes. That's what I do with American & Canadian Idol. The longer it drags out, the less I actually watch. Only interested in who gets the boot!

I was anxious to see Josh Groban sing...but when he did I was disappointed. Didn't care for his new song at all. :bluesad:

I agree with most of the previous comments and choices, however I think that James' problem stems from the fact that he should have been paired with a taller partner. He is,I think, at a disadvantage. I also think that he should wear things which shorten his legs; maybe then the good in his dancing may show up.

I really love Josh Groban; was let down last night though. I even thought that he did not seem satisfied with his performance either.

Lennie,

I don't remember if they cut the show down to an hour either. I think I remember that the couples did more than one dance per show near the end, right?

I hate how they drag it out. I have to put the DVR on pause for the first 20 minutes or so in the beginning. Then I can at least skip through all those commercials!:re:

I think you're right, Sandy. Two dances. Can you imagine? Lucky that most of them are performers and are used to memorizing things.

I give them ALL huge credit no matter how badly they dance. I could NEVER do anything like that.

Do you guys vote? I have been voting online after each show, but I haven't been voting for who I think is the best dancer. I know that's bad...but, I will do 'the right thing' when it gets down to the last three or four...which will be a very difficult decision this year...Laila, Joey, Ian, and Apolo are all good from the start.

I was sorry to see Paulina(?) go, as I liked her personality.

Heather surprised me, and I have to admit that I don't feel quite as much animosity towards her as I did before...but I still won't vote for her. It's a Newfie thing.

I like Clyde...even though he looks awkward at times. His height may be great for basketball, but not so much for dancing, especially since his professional partner is so small. But, he is working at it, so kudos for that.

I also like John. For a man his age, and size, he is doing surprisingly well...he is more serious about it, and much better than the previous 'older' stars.

Unfortunately, I think that Leeza may be the next one to leave. I think she is holding back too much(maybe nerves, and self-consciousness?). She really needs to just let loose. Just my opinion. Gosh, if she is dropped next, there will only be a couple of women left...Laila and Heather. Hmmmm.

Up to now I have been voting for the ones I don't want to see leave just yet. Of course, it could backfire if a lot of people do that, and the better dancers don't get enough votes in the early stages. :bolt:

Debby, I think I started voting halfway through last season...I had no idea it was so easy! I keep a link on my desktop for the duration of the show. I have problems getting on sometimes, but I don't know if it is because of the traffic at the website or just that my computer is being unco-operative.

Judy, I just started watching American Idol this year, but I won't vote because it costs money. I've already told my daughter that she is not allowed to use text messaging(it is driving up our bill), so I can't very well use it myself.

I don't enjoy Idol as much as the dancing show anyway. The thing that I don't like is that there are professional singers in the competition, and I don't think that's fair. I felt the same way when professional athletes started entering the Olympics. It spoils it for me.

Donna, I tried to vote last night but they didn't like my postal code! So I will sit back and just enjoy the dancing. :bluesmile

Believe it or not, I liked Billy, Ian & Joey's dancing. Heather wasn't bad. The rest were just not up to par in my books. I thought this group would be better than all the other seasons but I think they are just doing enough to get by.

Hi Judy,

I first signed on to vote last season, and I forgot what info was needed. I think the website must have remembered my ID this year, so I didn't have to input all of that stuff again. Sorry about that.

I hate it when the professionals don't follow the rules in the choreography...that is their responsibility, and almost looks like 'cheating' when they try to bypass them. It's not fair for the contestants to be placed in that position in front of the judges.

The Paso Doble is a much more difficult dance to 'make look good' than the waltz...in my humble opinion. With the waltz, a beautiful song and a lovely flowing gown will win half the battle(for people like me who don't notice that the body positions aren't quite right) For that reason, I kind of admire the dancers who did try the Paso Doble(not sure of the spelling), even though it looked comedic in most instances.

Joey was definitely the best last night...I agree with the judges there.

I really liked the choreography of Heather's dance.

I think Billy Ray is really trying hard since the first night. He gets better every week. He still has a long way to go, but I hope he stays on for a while.

I think the judges felt the same as you...that the dancers weren't up to par, and not making a good effort. They were pretty harsh last night, but that's probably what's needed to make the dancers realize what they need to do.

The dancers keep saying how difficult it is and how much they are working, so maybe they are all getting tired, and need to get their second wind.

I was disappointed last night...
Take care,
Donna

I was disappointed in last night's show also. These things I can say:

Apolo and Julianne are my favorites. They work hard, are a perfect couple and are just so damn cute!

Clyde is done as far as he's concerned. I don't think he cares anymore. :bolt: What a disappointment for Karina after working with Mr. Latin-Hot-Stuff, Mario.

Joey was the best and kept his "bum" in line. He has fun out there.

Heather, Ian, Leila, were okay.

John was pretty bad but didn't his 91 y/o Mom look great?

Leeza will go tonight.

I think the criticism was justified. And I agree Donna, most of them are burning out.

Just mho. Lennie

Donna and Lennie,

I agree with all that you've said. I started voting this year. It's so easy to do online. My favorites are Ian, Joey, Leila and Apolo, but Heather has been pretty darned impressive. Leeza looks so gorgeous. It's hard to believe she's fifty. But the judges were right, she seems to be holding back. I think she'll probably go tonight, but it could be Clyde of John, too. I like them all, so it will be hard to see one of them leave.

Joey was absolutely fabulous last night, but I sometimes think he has an unfair advantage from his performing with NSync and in Broadway shows. He still works hard and does a great job though. His bum AND his thumb were kept in line. (That was for Lennie.) tee hee!

I'm looking forward to tonight!

Totally expected but I would not have been surprised to see John go either.

I did like the "Ride a Cowboy" routine. It was great and I don't care for country music at all. It was a lot of fun to watch and it was well performed, the music and the dancing.

Okay, is John next???

For me it should be Clyde. IMHO, as a bb player I expect to see him move a little faster and all I ever see is him appearing to saunter around the dance floor. Maybe since he has such long legs that he only needs to takes long strides on the bb court. But for some reason, he just doesn't look like he is doing much when dancing.

I enjoyed watching Drew come back and do his little diddy with Cheryl again. He just gets better with age, even better than big brother Nick!!!!! But then I still don't understand Jessica Simple-son's problem with their marriage.
I have to say that I am very impressed with Heather Mills dances. I thought she wouldn't be able to pull it off, but she's sure fighting to stay in.
It will most likely come down to either Joey or Ian winning this year. The guys "seam" to be "cutting" it up better than the gals.

I agree. Clyde just saunters around the floor. That is not dancing. I really enjoyed Apollo's dancing. For a young guy he does good. And he dances nice and straight considering that he has to bend to skate. jessie s

Well I love Country music and Big and Rich, but I admit not looking forward to the long drawn out results show, I flipped stations, and was so glad I turned back just in time to see Drew and Cheryl in the dance that won them the contest last year...I think it should be Clyde to go, but figure John might go first. I did hear on tv tonight that Mark Hamlin's wife Lisa is going to come back and dance on one of the result shows...I'll be darned if I can think of her last name....:re: Anyways, I DO like Apollo's dancing too! Just my 2 cents...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone BUT Clyde!! He seems like a lovely man but he can't dance. He doesn't even seem to be trying. Billy Ray didn't put much effort into it last night either. I got the feeling that his other projects are pulling him from this. He seems to WANT to be done with the competition.

Should be interesting tonight.

Weren't Apolo and his partner fantastic?! Laila was really great too. My other favorites are Ian and Joey. Got my fingers crossed!

I was late getting back from my walk last night, so I missed the first dance(Ian and Cheryl). If anyone has an opinion on how they did last night, I would love to hear it! They ended up in the middle of the points standings, so perhaps they didn't do that well?

I'm amazed at Heather, even with the little mishap at the end of her performance last night. Every week, she pushes a little more. I still won't vote for her, but she really deserves kudos for her attitude and effort in this contest. I hate to say it, but I sort of like her now, and I look forward to seeing what she'll do next!...:monkey:

Laila was great, as expected.

I loved watching Apolo and Julianne's dance...I'm glad that they got a perfect score, and I think it will force the better contestants to really 'kick it up a notch'!

I think a rivalry will develop between Joey and Apolo now, since Joey got the first 10, and Apolo got the first perfect score. They are so good, it should be fun to watch!

I liked Joey's performance last night, but not as much as Apolo's. I think a better costume would have helped him. The white shirt with a tie(undone), looked a little sloppy. I know that it was supposed to be part of the 'scene' or story that they were presenting, but it detracted from the overall look of the dance.

The more I watch this show, the more I realize how important the costume is...even for the men. A well-fitted shirt is necessary to show posture and stance during the dance. It really makes a difference.

From time to time the costume dept. gets a mention, but I would love to see more time dedicated just to that...from the design decisions to the fittings to the choosing of fabric to the construction to the final products. They do a fantastic job every week!

Well Donna, Ian & Cheryl weren't as good as the previous performances. Ian is the problem. He is trying but has so much tension in his body when he dances that you can see that it isn't coming naturally. It even shows in his face. Maybe next week they will be better. I think it is swing dancing coming up.

Well Donna, I agree with Judy, even though Cheryl is my favorite and I would love for her to win a third time, it is Ian holding her back, very McStiffy and Bruno said LOL. I thought Apollo, Laila and Joey all did well. I think Billy Ray is going tonight unless Clydes fans just give up on him....Lennie where are ya? What did you think?

Hey guys, I'm here. It took an hour for Debby's voice to reach me here on the other side. :bolt: I heard this little voice calling me out of the kitchen.

I really enjoyed Ian and Cheryl. I don't remember much of it just that I liked it. At any rate, he's a pretty sexy guy. Amazing voice.

My absolute favorite: no surprise, Apolo and Julianne. Very, very sexy and adorable together. Can you be both?

Clyde just impressed me as something for Karina to hold on to and keep her balance. Big thumb's down.

Why did Jonathan have to wax that nice chest? That's above the call of duty. He seems like a genuinely nice guy though. Loved Tom's comment about all the ladies in the nation saying, "Just get over it! Sheesh."

Clyde should go. Billy Ray should go. John will go. Just my guess.

Macy is a "Want a be singer" from Canton Ohio. Just a stones throw in my backyard. I remember when she sang the National Anthem at the Hall of Fame Game here about 3 years ago. She was DRUNK and butcher it so bad that they went to a commercial!!!!! I can't stand to hear her voice, like fingers on a blackboard!!!

I agree...Macy Gray???? Maybe they are getting hard up for acts to go on the show...is public opinion getting thru that we want just to get the results and forget the rest of the hoopla!!!

Yep...I thought Clyde would do a little happy dance after the results. And wasn't Billy Ray's reaction great! Even he thinks he should have gone...or at least been in the bottom two. Now he's gonna have to practice some more. But he is trying which was more than you could say for Clyde...so I think that is why he is still there. We'll have to see how much he puts into it next week!

I am almost as happy to see Clyde go as he is! :re:
Loved his little "YES" gesture and Billy Ray's response was priceless.

Macy Gray looked ridiculous (her outfit and expressions) but I kind of liked her song. Good back-up singers.

Lisa Renna, sorry Debby, grates on my nerves. Must be the lips......meow. Didn't know she could sing.

Judy and Debby, thanks for the update on Ian and Cheryl.

Macy Gray has been around for a while...I think she won a Grammy a few years ago. She is a 'one-of-a-kind', but I like some of her music, and I did like her song last night.

I see that John wasn't in the bottom two this week...perhaps Leeza's people were voting for him?
If Clyde's people keep voting, who will they vote for?

I think Billy Ray should go, but he has all of his fans, and probably all of Hannah Montana's fans as well! I think we're stuck with him. The judges have been very kind to him, and, I think it may be out of deference to his little girl...Did you guys see her, I think it was week two, when she said, "I'm very proud of my daddy" into the camera. She was so cute!

I thought Clyde was very gracious about leaving.

I'm glad that the judges' scores carry some weight...instead of relying completely on the voters. They will have to score Billy Ray really low to offset the fans' votes.

I wonder how the scoring actually works...
Take care,
Donna

I don't usually watch reality shows but have occasionally tuned to the dancing one. Do you think Billy Rae is still in because he liked the idea of dancing in the back of a chevy? He sure isn't a good dancer. I thought the look on his face at the suggestion was a hoot. I certainly wouldn't mind being in the back of a chevy with him. It has been many many many many many ................... years for me but I do recall it being a lot of fun even if emotionally charged. :bolt: In reality would not be fun now - oh to know then what we know now!:re:

I love dancing and music. I am surprised at how wooden the musicians dance. Perhaps it is stage fright. Witness the difference of 'flow' with the professional dancers.

I think Clyde would have done much better if he'd had a taller partner. His partner's stride was probably three steps for each of one of his, so synching their steps would have been very difficult. His height was such that if he were to hold a good dancing posture, she would have been in the air with her feet dangling above the floor.

His hand is as big as her head! :bg:

I agree that he isn't one of the better dancers, but I feel like the judges were harsher on him than on other 'not so good' contestants. I have to say, though, they all seem to take it in stride...

Wow! Who was surprised last night? I was absolutely!

I thought Heather did a bad job but considering what time they had to practice no one could expect more.

The swing dance was fun to watch.

What was with Billy Ray looking at Karina's crotch. That was one strange dance move........

I really thought John would go but I'm glad he didn't. I hope he doesn't lose interest since he thought he'd be long gone by now.

I had a phone call so missed all of Heather's dance on Monday. But I wasn't totally surprised that she was in the bottom two. I'm beginning to think that Billy Ray isn't worried about pleasing the judges since he has so much going on that he wouldn't mind going. I think he is realizing that it doesn't matter what he does cause he's getting the votes anyways. Next week it should be interesting with 2 dances...

My power went off just when they announced the bottom two. :bg: I had to wait until this morning to find out. I'm not surprised at the result...it's still a popularity contest.

Billy Ray doesn't deserve the 7s he keeps getting from the judges, and John's scores should at least be equal to Billy Ray's, or higher...just my humble opinion.

Time to start voting for the best dancer...hmmm. Lennie, I think I'm with you...Apolo and Julieann...I think...

I agree with you, Donna. They seem to be a lot easier on Billy Ray, and John is just as 'good' as he is.

Lennie, I was shocked and bewildered when I saw that ridiculous dance move with Billy Ray opening Karina's legs and looking at her crotch. Huh??? :re:

Anyway, I was not surprised to see Heather go. I thought it was funny that she had a farewell speech prepared. I was glad John got another week. I'm impressed with his efforts.

I'm rooting for Apolo and Julianne, and Laila and Max. I still really like Ian and Joey, and it wouldn't surprise me if one of them pulled ahead. Time will tell...

Anyone think the Jimmy Kimmel spots are funny? I didn't but cracked up last week with the Yoey Fatoney spot. The little guy looked so cute.

I think that Apolo kind of slipped last night, NOT to say he won't get right back to the top, but as far as last night goes, I think the two to watch will be Joey & Kym, Laila and Max. I agree with Green Dragon Lady, how COULD anyone not smile when you watch Joey? IMHO I think Jimmy Kimmel better not quit his night job LOL, I would be embarrassed if I were him, and the guy with him....oh sheesh:shock:

What was up with Julianne's costume (the red one). Did anyone else notice that after she and Apolo danced, the front was hanging off and she was struggling to keep it up. Then the camera moved away and when it returned to her, the piece of fabric was tied behind her neck. Whoops! Wardrobe malfunction!!

I like Apolo, Joey, and Laila...and I still think there's hope for Ian. He really wants this and seems to be working his butt off. Plus, he's cute and I still like him from 90210!

I'm not surprised they have wardrobe malfunctions. The design team doesn't have much time to design/sew the costumes, then I think the dancers sometimes don't even have a chance to do a dress rehearsal.

I thought Billy Ray's expression was great too!

What'd you think of those kids that were dancing? Pretty great!

Sorry GDL, I thought the kids were very talented but I also thought it was really creepy. Didn't like watching those real young ones at all.

I liked the dancing in Meatloaf's first number. Even Meatloaf (time for a new name) didn't do too bad on his "Bat out of Hell". Second song stunk.

I think it was time for John. It was time for Billy Ray the first week but his fans keep him going. Wouldn't you love to see a new hair cut on him???? :re:

It was time for Billy Ray the first week but his fans keep him going.Lennie
I think there'd be an uproar if Ian, Apollo or Joey get the lowest number of votes next week instead of Billy Ray  Hope the fans don't decide vote to keep him just because he really wants to be off the show.

So, Bruno let the truth slip out last night...Billy Ray's dancing is 'crap'. LOL He obviously didn't mean to say it, and had a genuine look of 'oops' on his face, but I think that it's what everyone was thinking anyway. Billy Ray didn't take it too well, but, (shrug), the judges were a lot meaner to better contestants. In spite of it all, Bruno still gave him a 7, which is more than Carrie-Anne(not sure of the spelling) gave. I hope the fans do the right thing this week...

I thought the others did really well last night, but Apolo and Julianne stole the show in my opinion...they were fantastic in both dances!

I really can't predict how it will end up because it's up to the voters, and it is clear that dancing performance is merely one factor affecting the results.
Take care,
Donna

I'm glad Bruno said Billy Ray is "crap" too. I think he was just so fed up with the euphenisms and said it like it is. Billy Ray was appalling in his response. His true colors came out and he was extremely rude. I sure hope he goes tonight.

Apolo and Julianne were great and Len is an old fart! You can appreciate great quality even if it's not your personal taste.

Joey and Kim were fabulous.

I still say it's Joey and Apolo..........

I missed it last night, but tivo'd it. I can't wait to see Bruno speak the truth!! I'll have to watch it tonight before the results show.

How did Laila do?

I thought Laila did really well, but her moves are not quite as smoothe as Apolo's or Joey's...(my opinion ) She looked very beautiful in the red dress she wore for the waltz, and it was a lovely dance...her dad was there, so it was extra special. Her jitterbug was good too, but I found that after the elegance of the waltz, it just didn't seem as well-executed. Maybe she should have done the jitterbug first, and saved the best for last. :re:

I missed it all last night. Guess I'll see the highlights tonight. But I'm with you all for B-R to get the boot even though I didn't get to view any of it. :bg:

Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!

Billy Ray is gone! There is justice.

Could not believe that Joey was in the bottom two. I thought for sure it'd be Ian and if not him, Laila.

We're getting down to it ladies.

I was in  seeing Joey in the bottom two. You know that the show is getting close to the end when something like that happens. Once they revealed that Ian was safe, there was a lot more tension in the air.

I was really worried that Billy Ray would squeeze through since he obviously has a large fan base...but the judges did mark him quite low in comparison to the others this week, so I think that helped...a lot! :re:

I think we will see some spectacular moves next week...unless somebody flounders under the pressure. :nervous:

I was absolutely stunned when they said Ian was safe, and then Joey ended up in the bottom two. Couldn't believe it! I love Ian, but I have to be honest. He has not done as good a job as the others that are left. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go next week, but I guess he's got quite a fan base, too.

The pressure is on! Whew!!

So glad Billy Ray off. He didn't dance just walked around. Really like Joeys dancing. He isn't built like a dancer, a little overweight but boy can he dance. Ian is built like a dancer but can't dance as well as Joey. Looking forward to next couple of weeks. Think it will come down to Laila and Apollo. jessie s

I am still amazed that someone who can sing and have a musical rhythm with a beat, CAN'T DANCE TO SAVE HIS FANNY!!!!!!!
I like Billy Ray, but he was the "Jerry Springer" of this season. And even her knew it.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that Apolo will take it all the way.

It's as it should be, I think.

I thought they said that next week is the finals...I don't understand how that can be with three couples left...
The host said something about them dancing on Monday night, and once more on Tuesday??? Did anyone get what he said? If they dance on Tuesday, and that is the finale, then the viewers don't get to vote for the final dances??? :nc:

I missed the first half of the show this week, but enjoyed the second half. They were all good, but I think that it should definitely be between Apolo and Joey. The jive is usually fun to watch, but Joey's jive was exceptional. I don't think it was fair of Len to deduct a point from Apolo just because he thought the Cha cha was too raunchy.

I have it recorded, I can check to see what they said. I did think I heard that they'll be doing three dances next week, so maybe they'll do two dances Monday night, the country votes, someone gets booted early Tuesday, then the two remaining couples dance Tuesday night and just the judges decide (so it's not a popularity contest but based on dancing alone)

I agree with everything Donna said. Exactly right. It's as it should be.

Len was unfair. That dance was just sexy fun, not over the top. I liked the "monkey's armpit" phrase though. What about that comment about Joey's being "bigger than most"??? Was that it? A bit hypocritical, huh?

I'm not sure how they're doing it. I kept hearing semi-finals this week and finals next week and three dances as well.

Can't wait to watch. I really loved the entire show on Monday. As for Tues. ~ Enrique Iglesias was really weak and pouty. Although the flamenco dancer is tops in the world I don't get it.........:nc:

Me too...I'm happy with the results last night.

There will be three dancing in the finals but I'm not sure what was meant about them dancing on Tuesday night... to see if they can change the judges minds...I think they said. So whether they will be taking the audience votes from Monday and adding on the Tuesday nights judging to come up with the winner, I'm not sure but that is how I am taking it. Guess we'll find out either next Monday or on Tuesday.

Really enjoy Dancing with the Stars. Love the pro dancing on Tuesday nights but can't stand that garbage with Jimmy Kimmel and I guess parking lot guy. That part of Tuesday night is ridiculous. Rest of show is good. Usually take a coffee break when he comes on. jessie s

I agree with you all.

I'm not sure how they're going to do it. I just remember them saying there would be 3 dances next week.

Enrique was boring, and Jimmy Kimmel and his friend are just a waste of time in my book.

I fast forward through most of that stuff.

I think it's going to come down to Laila and Apolo. I don't know who I'm rooting for, I like them all!

It's Apolo all the way. Joey was terrific too. Laila just doesn't do it for me although she is impressive and likeable.

It's a 2 hour show tonight till 11. Should be lots of fun.

   I missed most of the show last night. My neighbour's house was broken into yesterday, and I went to warn the neighbour on the other side so she could take precautions. Well, we got into a long chat about things...and I missed the freestyles! I had a good chat with my neighbour, though!

I read some reviews online, and it would seem that they agree with you, Lennie.

I got home just in time to get my votes in before the deadline...not a minute to spare. Whew!

Apolo won! What a surprise!

I missed the very end(last ten minutes), obviously the most exciting part...I must say that the first 1 hour 50 minutes were pretty boring.

I'm glad it's over, and I can get back to my normal routine. I will watch American Idol tonight, then no more reality shows for me...I think I've invested enough time in that realm!

I've never really watched those types of shows before, but once I started, and picked my favourites, I wanted to see how well they would do! Next year, I am going to :bolt: if I even hear the commercials! :bg:

What did you think of all the hype about the third dance? Wasn't it convenient that the judges scored them all perfect scores!!! So that means that they each got 50% of the same scores...so the viewers vote actually chose the winner! Surprise surprise!!

But I was glad that Apollo won.

Hey Donna...you can't give up on the reality shows now. The next one coming is "So You Think You Can Dance"...and American Idol is finishing for you but Canadian Idol starts for me on June 5th. So I'm just gonna start all over again!

I think the third dances were just time-fillers, and the judging was just to pat everyone on the back for a fun season.

I really regret missing the freestyles the night before... By most accounts, they were really entertaining.

My normal routine includes a walk after supper on most nights, and these shows tend to be scheduled for 7:00 Central...so I have to skip my walk, or shorten it, or rush home in order to see the whole show. That's why I don't want to get to tangled up in the shows anymore...:bg:

I would love to see Canadian Idol...I caught a little of it last fall when I was visiting home...it was really well-done, and the talent was fabulous!

I'm so happy and not at all surprised that Apolo and Julianne won. They were so great and great together. Can't believe that Julianne is only 18. I think she's got a good, long career ahead of her.

Donna, invest in a DVR, you won't regret it. It totally spoils you. The ability to stop everything whenever you need to and get back to it anytime you need to is amazing. You can program the thing to record every time a particular show comes on. I like waiting till 15 min. after an hour long show has begun and then starting it from the beginning again so I can zip through all of the commercials.

We love ours. Lennie

And P.S. I can't wait for Season 5!

I watched American Idol last night and was thrilled for Jordin to win. I don't think I want to watch any more reality shows until season 5 Dancing with the stars in September...

I'm getting tired of the way they stretch out the results shows. I watched A. Idol but was more interested in just getting to the results than seeing all the song & dance in between. All the shows are doing it...they've got the audience hooked and time to fill....
