I've been asked to shorten a blazer. It's got square bottom so should work. However, she thinks she wants it shorter than what would look right because of the buttonhole. From what I can figure out the bottom should be distance between buttonholes plus about 1" from last buttonhole. Any ideas what I could do with that last buttonhole if I made it with only couple inches below last buttonhole? I can easily pick out the buttonhole but I'm left with cut in the fabric. |

I don't think she would like the look once it was done. I wouldn't shorten it anymore than what would look right. Otherwise, she may blame you for the look.

Babs I've been thinking about this, I'm not sure how you could do this... Unless she will only wear it buttoned up then i would switch sides and make new buttonholes on the other side and sew the old button holes shut and put the buttons on that side, otherwise it is just going to look funny. Sorry I couldn't come up with a better idea
