Okay, let's brainstorm!! I have lots of lace, trim, and embellishments from years of my sewing, inherited from MIL (who is deceased some 20 years) and that I have bought at antique shows just because it was pretty...And some that a friend bought at a garage sale...

Most is not even a yard...How can I put this together and use it..I'm thinking of sewing them together to make an eclectic fabric..and then what??...
Come on, they are many of you out there who are very creative artist types...I just "borrow" ideas and everyone thinks that I am clever.. You know the saying..."every original idea that I ever had, I stole from someone"...hehehe

Okay, I wait with bated breath (okay, that's just the Merlot) for the creative juices to flow...Paula

Get out your scraps of your beloved and luxurious fabrics and make a crazy quilt trimmed everywhere and every seam with lace or ribbon. You need something to background the lace. You don't have make a quilt per se. I have a friend who does this -exquisite work. She uses luxury fabrics. Use every fancy stitch you can think of by hand or by machine. Fabrics and embellishments at every which angle.

Can also use crazy quilt for vests, coats, placemates, pillows (could probably sell the pillows at a pretty penny). Have you a window you want to highlight? A stool to cover?

Ooor lace is in for trim on blouses this year - sounds like you would need to make quite a few blouses to use the lace up. What about a bathrobe/lounge dress?

This is an interesing thread. I just started sewing a year ago, but I have yards & yards of lace, and then some! I don't know anything about lace, but I bought 2 little baggies of lace at a thrift shop that ended being about 15 yards of lace - I didn't know how much I had until after I tossed it into a little bag & washed & dried it - it came out a tangled mess and I had to iron all of it. It was a long, tedious ordeal. I also bought a grab bag of stuff from someplace that had a ton of stretch lace seam binding - I now have 24 packs of that! So I am looking forward to reading ideas of how to use my stash.
I can't quilt worth a hoot, but I might try something really, really simple and incorporate the lace like Sancin suggested - I think that would be adorable!

Hmm...Are they panels of lace (from a bolt), or are they strips (from a spool)? Either way, something fun and artistic can come of them.

There was a project on the Bernina site recently using the scraps of lace and trims. It was made up into a pillow. The lace and trim was edge-stitched into 'fabric', and then cut into triangles, which were sewn onto a square of fabric with a beautiful motif embroidered on it. A simple ruffle of embroidered trim and and lace edging was added to the edge. This would be a lovely ring pillow for a bride, or on a bed too. It used a 9" pillow form. Quite pretty.

Oh, I agree use it on a crazy quilt all the different laces would be beautiful.
If you have lots of machine emboridery stitches these would be beautiful in them.
I have been meaning to start one but haven't yet. Good luck at using them.

Since I am a visual learner, can anyone post a picture of the crazy patch project...I guess I need to go looking at the Bernina site to find that project... I even have some bits of antique lace b/c it was pretty...but it does not make sense to keep it rolled up in a bag in a box where I re-discover it every couple of years...Thanks for the suggestions...Try to send me some photos...Paula
