Is this possible without having the fabric stretch all out of wack?? Anyone ever tried it. The designs I am thinking of are only about 2x2" .

Laura I did it and it was fine. I used the spray instead of hooping it. That way I didn't stretch it out of whack. Here's a pic of it.

Laura that's the hardest part of making something is finding what I'm going to put on it when I'm done. And of course, the designs hog I am I have way too many choices to choose from:mad: and of course they aren't organized so I have to go through all of them.

I want to see your masterpiece when it's finished. Okay?

I'll gladly show it off! I'm having a bit of a time learning my new machine, so it almost feels as if I'm starting from scratch and relearning how to sew. And I can't find anything in my sewing room as I had to move everything around to fit in the new baby. This will be the first thing I have embroidered on it and I'm looking forward to doing it. I decided on 3 bears, using the three colors in the plaid seersucker fabric, yellow, pink and green. I'm not excited about the fabric, its too pastelly for my liking, so I hope the new mom likes it.

I'm sure she will love it. I know the feeling about moving things around. If I put it there it better stay there because I know where I left it but if I have to make changes I was lost for a month after I did. Get ready you are going to get addicted to the new baby.

Lyn you are going to love sewing your little granddaughter's name on everything you make now when you get your machine out of layaway. That's one thing for sure you will be addicted as much as the rest of us that have machines. And when she gets bigger no one will ever forget her name. LOL

I totally forgot to get a picture of the outfit before I went to the baby shower, I was crazy busy trying to make a rag quilt that afternoon for the same baby shower - why I didn't just go for burp cloths???. So there I was at 6:45 clipping the edges of the quilt. Threw it into the dryer for 5 minutes and then told the new mom to please wash and dry it first, and by itself cause she was going to have fluff everywhere. The seersucker dress turned out pretty well. Am loving the new machine too.

Awww Laura and I was waiting to see it. LOL
I bet it came out good you're being too modest.

Bren you will get one soon. Tell Ashley to start trying. Pepper and Stacie have their hands full. LOL I love the boys but it's fun making fruu fruu for the girls.

Different outfit, but in seersucker. Plus two other projects. The twirl skirt is for the 5 yr old GD. The other two for the 19mon GD. This machine is too much fun.

Laura I am showing people at the quilt shop how to use that Inovis 4000. It's a great machine. It even surges and cuts the fabric. I demoed it to a lady who was wanting to free hand quilt and when she tried it she was sold on the machine. It's a great machine

Those clothes are darling. What pattern is that twirl skirt? My GD loves to twirl in her dresses I'd like to make her one like that one

After I got my 1st embroidery machine & the grand children started arriving I too was eager to embroider their names on clothes until I thought about all of the nuts out there who kidnap children & if their names are all over they can use the child's name to call them.

I don't want to be a spoil sport but there are too many children abducted everyday & it hurts my heart.

I do not even use initials as that could be used as a guessing game.

Susie, that's the Redondo skirt. I got the pattern from Baby Chic on line in California I think for $9.95. Check out the Sewing for Children forum, there's lots of discussion and pictures on it. I found the sizing a little strange, I don't know of any little 5 yr old who has a 19" waist and 29" hips!
But it's a cute little pattern.

Laura, LOL I don't know there is a lot of discussion on children over eating lately but my little girls are all thin now the boys are chunky but the baby girls aren't.

Thanks for the info I'll check that site out and the Children's thread.
