She picked the fabric out for her #4 b-day party "all by myself". She is so excited about wearing it and asked me if she could wear it to bed tonight..:bg:

Thanks for letting me share

Absolutely gorgeous. And I notice the fabric matches the shoes beautifully - or is it the other way around?

Good job. What a lucky girl.

Tammy that's georgeous!!! Your DD is precious and a great model.

My granddaughter would love that one. She loves that pattern because the dress twirls. When she puts it on she twirls around and makes the dress flair out. She's two and love dresses already. My DIL her mother loves butterflies and if she saw the dress you made I'd have to make on just like it for Trinatte. Thanks for sharing with us.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

How absolutely adorable! The shoes are a nice accessory. Be sure to save some scraps of the fabric with a note attached that it was her birthday dress and how she wanted to wear it to bed.....

One day you'll want to make a special quilt and then you can sew the memories into it

Thanks everyone! It's so nice to share things I've made with fellow sewing divas!

Patti; Thanks for a great idea! I have been thinking about attempting my first quilt soon and will definitely use that idea.

I love it! Tammy, when is your dd's 4th b/d? My dd turns 4 on May 3.
If you don't mind me asking, what pattern is that?
I know better than to put my dd into something like that for her b/d since we're doing it outside and renting a "bounce house".

 I love it! She looks so happy in it. The picture itself is priceless. She's going to be a little diva with taste that sophisticated so early in life. Better watch out! :re:

Maureen - Sarah turns 4 on April 10th so we are having her party on the 15th. Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses is the theme...oh la-la! I'm surprised she didn't pick a more ballet theme fabric but that is what she wanted.

Something funny about this fabric is that it feels just Horrid! It has some sort of glittery coating on it. I'm sure I could take her out in a downpour and it would be waterproof! The side that's next to her skin is soft cotton and does not have this glittery layer so I think she'll be safe from irritation :nervous: ..I hope...

I got that pattern many moons ago from youcanmakethis.com. "How to make an apron dress" from Pouty Princess. I left out the apron and actually modified the back part of the bodice. I made it a lower cut to show more of her back since the front and back bodice pieces are the same.
