Mary, I didn't understand your sewing tip about the sharp edges, when you talk about basting around your edges? I may be having an airbubble moment, but I don't get it.

Ok, I know I can be very hard to understand at times. Not a problem at all.

Let's say you are making a vest. You will either have it lined or have facings around all the edges. Baste the fabric layers together along the outer edges and press. The basting keeps the layers in the proper place. The edges will look very sharp and crisp.

Oh, do you mean a temporary basting that is just for the purpose of positioning the fabric before you press? That could save a finger or two in the steam as well. Good idea!

I must confess I wasn't too sure I understood that tip at first, Mary, but your added explanations now make it crystal clear - and this is a great tip! Thank you! :bluesmile

For some reason I haven't been getting the newsletters Mary. Am I off the list or is there something going on with my email again. I'm not getting my notices on the post I subscribe to either.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
