I am returning my brother 270D it worked great and then had machine failures. I am now looking at the BROTHER Innov-is 1200 Can anyone give me their opinion on this machine? Also, they qouted me $1200 - is this a fair price? Thanks for any help!!:bolt:

Hi, Lisalu. I have the Innovis 1200 and I really like it. I've had it for about a year and a half now and have had no problems with it. The price is about right. I think that's what I paid for mine, although I did have a trade in that brought the price down a little. It's very easy to use and to 'get to know'. I like the built in designs and like the fact that I have 6 built in fonts. I have a good time with it and probably use it at least twice a week...sometimes more when I'm in a 'mood'. I think it's a great machine. It converts to a sewing machine really easily, too. There are a lot of more expensive machines out there that can do a LOT more as far as sizing and merging designs and maybe 'someday' I'll step up to that when I can afford it, but for the price I think you'd be happy with this one. Hope this helps.

Becky.. if you want to size and merge designs.. instead of paying a whole lot of money to step up your machine, look into Embird at www.embird.com you can download a free trial that is good for 30 days or 100 uses, whichever comes first... Embird will resize, merge, change colors, etc... and if you pay for the registration through secretsof.com or through flyingneedle.ca the cost is about 20% less... it will cost you $90-$100 for Embird basic... a lot less than upgrading your machine...
