Well, we moved to a new town, about three hours away from my beloved Port Townsend, WA. We are now in rain-soaked Hoquiam, where my parents live and I grew up (-ish - I moved here when I was 8 and stayed until graduation, then college).

SO! I finally finished a sewing project besides organization of my sewing room (ugh) and mending here and there. Just two simple school shirts for my girl who is growing alarmingly fast and her closet shows it. Ottobre 05/2006 #14 in 110 cm, for the curious (I know, you're not):

Vinta<a href=http://www2.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifge fabric shirt" height="360" width="270" />
Sophie in vintage fabric which was $20 a bleepin' yard! I don't know why I bought it (months ago) but I hacked into it because just because it is expensive does not mean it is holy!

Little girl + owl shirt.

Both shirts from on high.

Smoove sleeve
Armpit. Hey, flat-felled seams after sleeve assembly? Kelly, how did you do it? Um, I didn't realize I'd have to sew with the sleeve up my machine head to do it. Tee-hee! It turned out fine.

Sassy Sophie displays collar
Sassy little tiger!

Here's the Flickr tag set for this project as well as my pattern review .

Glad to see you back on the board. I noticed you'd gone MIA.

Great looking and adorable. The clothes are pretty neat too! Really terrific!

Good job!

Great to see you back Blackie. We can go away for a little while but we always come back don't we.

You're little model is precious and sassy. LOL I love the shirts. They are darling. I like the pic of her with the teeth shot. Glad you're all settled in and back to sewing again.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

If you had to move from somewhere you loved, at least you're closer to family. It'll be nice for Sophie to have her grandma and grandpa close by. Moving seems to be the trend at the moment - I hope you managed to get a bigger and better sewing room out of it.

Love the shirts (and the model's cute too). Good attitude about the fabric - I wish I could do the same. Maybe if I did as nice a job as you did. I have a few things I'm too scared to use for "first times". I keep them until I've already made and perfected a pattern and by then I'm a bit bored and ready to try something else.

Kelly -
Great job, as we would expect from you.
On the sleeve did you start at one end, go to the middle and when the going got tough stop and start at the other end and meet in the middle?
I've found that helps in those tight spots.

Are the shirts fully lined or reversible?
They really are beautiful and Sophie, as usual, is, well, Sophie (beautiful).

Great job Blackie. I did the same thing with a robe I made. Flat fell seams up a long but thankfully quite wide sleeve.

Adorable daughter and cute shirts. Glad to see you again, Blackie. Hope the move wasn't too stressful. I your daughter will enjoy being close to her Grandma. My DD loved living across the street from hers.
Happy Stitching!

Living in the same town as my parents and my brother has been wonderful, and keeps getting better. My dad is ill (cancer) and so I'm glad we get to spend time together as a family. My mom supports my sewing and now and then watches my kids. It's been nice for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback, all!
