Written by Lennie one glorious day in October.

"Good luck. Why am I thinking you'll end up with a Romeo for her one of these days?????????
Lennie"

Lennie, You jinxed me. The same neighbor who Drooliette got loose from, stopped by my house today. She has a male puppy that got dumped on her. He is as cute as can be and will have to make a trip to the pound if someone won't take him. I really can't take him. I would love to but my hubby says NO, NO, NO!!!!! Sometimes I wonder why I married him.:bang: This one looks like a mix of some sort but still gonna be big. Anybody want him?

Thought I'd pop in before I'm gone for the day.

OMG! Oooo, I'd love to be psychic!

What can we do to convince your dh to help a defenseless little baby?

Well, he's been passed off to you and hopefully you can find him a good home.

Word of mouth. Hang out at the park. Hang out after school and talk to Mom's. Sign at the vet's. Ads. Mention it to EVERYONE you talk to.

I can't help but feel somewhat responsible. But no, I'm not driving to Texas! :bolt:

Good Luck, Lennie

Gina, Just noticed you're in San Antonio. I know a lady that just moved there a couple of years ago. She loves animals but I think she's full up. It's a coincidence though, isn't it? Guess I could drop her an email.

Actually Lennie he has not yet been passed off to me. She still has him until she has the time to take him to the pound.

Maybe she would trade him for the new kitten that showed up at our house a few days ago. He has to be a drop-off. He's tame and keeps trying to run into the house. None of the neighbors will claim him. And I just had another stray spayed 2 weeks ago. I think people who know me are doing this.

I hope the puppy finds a home.

Offer the puppy for adoption on Craig's List, and ask for a fee, about $75 to $100. NEVER give a pet away for free.

By the way, any idea what breed the dog is?

The animal control office here holds pet adoptions for dogs and cats at the local pet store every weekend. They adopt out a lot of puppies that way, and of course, the pets are spayed or neutered beforehand. I wouldn't feel bad about turning a stray over to them.
Take care,
Donna

Lennie,

There is no changing hubby's mind. Trust me I tried. So there is no Romeo in my Drooliette's immediate future.

I would never give one away for free myself but I also would never pay $70 to $100 for a stray mutt that will cost me $400 the first time we go to the vet.

When I talked to my neighbor yesterday they had a place for him at a shelter.

As for breed. I am no professional but I would guess him to have some boxer and maybe some lab. All I know is that he is gonna get big.

If your guess is right Gina, he's going to be energetic and smart. Fun with kids around.

I actually emailed the lady in S.A. and she's full up and sorry she can't take him.

Good luck. Lennie

Gina, doesn't have to be $75, could be $25. It just assures the puppy won't be a victim to pitbull fighting bait. Any responses to $75 or higher is an indication the they are serious about adopting the dog. I do this every so often when I find a stray.
