But I cut them longer so they could be pants. And they are oh so comfy!!

Oh, I love those Sherri. You must feel like you have jammies on. But, you could make them really dressy too.

Boy, they sure do look comfy. I'm thinking you have to be rather slim for them to look good.

How nice that you like them so much:up: .

Sherri,

That's good to know. I have a bad eye for that sometimes. I guess it would depend on the fabric and length.

Those are really cute! Thanks for posting this -- I might have to make some for summer. I'd personally probably reserve them for beach/pool wear, though, since I'd be paranoid about flashing someone! :re:

Cute. Thanks for posting. What kind of fabric did you use?
I bought a wrap pants pattern just a few days ago. It's Simplicity 4192. I thought they would be good to wear over my swimsuit this summer.
I remember wearing wrap shorts when I was a teenager.

I just used plain ole cotton. That is all I had enough of.

Those pants are also known as Island Pants. I've had a pattern for them for quite a few years and never made them but maybe I will this summer. They look really comfy.

How does everyone think a terry-cloth fabric would work for wrap pants? I have some solid white terry cloth with a flower texture across it. I thought it would be good for some kind of swimsuit cover. I originally planned a dress type cover, but wondered how wrap pants would be with this fabric. :nc: Would it be too stretchy?

Would it not be a bit heavy Bama? They look like they need a soft drape to work well, several wrapped over layers of terry would make me feel like I was in nappies(diapers to you) - I would have thought a tunic would work well in terry for a swimsuit cover up.

I love the pant pattern though and feel the urge to male some too.

Well, it's a thin fabric. The background is very thin with the flower pattern the only part that's really terry-cloth. It bolt was labeled terry cloth.
Does that make sense? I'm not worried as much about the weight of the fabric as I am the stretch. I was thinking of making the knee-length version. Maybe I'll try the shorts version for DD first. I have 9 yards of this stuff.
I looked for some gauze fabric for these last night but didn't find any and I'm itching to give them a try.

I think I've seen the fabric you're talking about, Bama -- I think it will work well. The fabric they use in the tutorial is a cotton knit I think, so I think the stretchiness shouldn't be a problem. I have seen these types of pants in both knit and woven fabrics, so I think either would work.

Thanks Kaitlin. I'm going to cut out the shorts for dd tonight. I'll let everyone know how they turn out.

DD told me she didn't want a pair of white shorts. :re: She prefers darker clothes. So... I found some rayon fabric in my stash and made a pair of the longer length wrap pants for myself. They turned out pretty good. This pattern has the bottom hem curved at the edges. I think I will make another pair with the terry fabric with the knee length pattern and a straight hem at the bottom.

Those are exactly what I wanted for a beach coverup while on my cruise next year. As soon as I figure out what to wear for a bathing suit I can get some fabric to match. Hmm, maybe I should make a pair just for the fun of it for summer too. Thanks for the great pattern.
