Okay-first off I make my own patterns. :) I can never get patterns from the big three to fit the girls. One is too skinny and one too solid. :) So here are my latest items: (I will post better detail shots later. I couldn't get them to hold still!) LOL

This is them together-

Zoe's outfit is a mock wrap top (I LOVE THIS FABRIC!) and a pair of jeans with some hand embroidery with some specialty yarn. Which was hard to do because the yarn had slubs. :)

Kammie is wearing a peasant top and gaucho pants. :) Her shirt has an applique on it to tie the outfit together. I decided it needs an applique on the pants too! :) What do you think? LOL These were just a mock up so I could use the pretty fabric, but the girlies fell in love with it. I know this isn't much compared to some of you gals but I am very proud of myself. :) I made Zoe an outfit to match Kammie and don't have pics of it yet. :)

I think you did a wonderful job! Your girls are lovely, and look very proud of their new outfits.

Did you use any books in particular to guide you in your patternmaking? How did you go about it? I've altered patterns, but have never really made my own for clothes.
Take care,
Donna

Do you do patterns for yourself also. It seems you are talented and enterprising. By the time the girls are ready for formals and wedding dresses you willl be ready. They remind me of my sister and myself. I was the rounder child. They are preceous. ( how is that spelled?)

Diana - they are lovely outfits. As are your girls! As it is very grey here in the north and it is Easter I am joyed to see all the colour!! I never had much luck making patterns for my daughter when she was little but do do my own when I am feeling patient. I am looking for a new top soon and I rather like the orange design. Thanks for the idea as well as the picture! You should be proud.
