Hello, all. I started sewing when my children were very young and money was very tight. I made clothing for myself and lots of things for my girls. I haven't sewn for a while now, except for hemming and repairs and such, but I would like to get back to it.

I love the feeling of accomplishment when a project is finished. I look forward to reading here and getting to know you all. I am sure there are a lot of wonderful seamstresses here.

Hi Lilac, and welcome. This is such a fun, friendly, and informative place. I've learned so much from everyone, and I'm sure you will feel quite comfortable here.

Hi Lilac, Welcome.

Join the crowd. You'll find that lots of us sewed for years, hung it up for a while and then felt the calling once again. It's better the second time around, really.

Hope to see you often.

Hi Lilac,
Welcome...so glad that you joined us.
I am a raving sewing addict, and am never too far away from at least one machine....but believe me.... todays sewing is nothing like what was out there when I first learned. A good deal of my sewing friends are just like you...sewed for a long while, and then went on an extended vacation...and have now re-joined the sewing world, and they have all said that everything is so much easier now, and the best part...no more tracing wheel!!! So...have fun and enjoy the "new" world of sewing!!!
a few spare hours, a stash of fabric, and a well oiled machine...
