OK so I was trying to make a shirt based on this on from OTTOBRE but with out the tie.

http://www.ottobredesign.com/lehdet_js/2007_2/sivut/4.jpg

But accidently Traced the wrong line for the bottom and ended up with a dress.

Like the dress just thought I would get more use out of the shirt.

No problem Just sillyness. And sort of disapponted that I have a new dress not a new shirt.

Other than fabric wastage what is stopping you from cutting off the excess and going back to plan A?

That just means you'll have to start again and make a shirt as well. Two new garments instead of one. It's all good.

I love that pattern. I was thinking about making a wrap dress to wear to DS's graduation. I was wondering about how well it would stay closed.
Let us know how you like wearing it.

I should try and get my husband to take a picture of me in mine.

I made the short sides longer so the I could sew them into theside seams rather then having a tye.

I have a wrap skirt pattern where the side that goes under sews into the side seam from the top about half way down so it doesn't show too much when the wind blows. It is a great idea and works really well.

That looks lovely. It would have been a nice shirt but I think it's even better as a dress. You get to see more of the fabric pattern.

Wasn't that the fabric originally intended for part of the wedding outfit? How did that go BTW? The day and the outfit.

That is beautiful! I wish my oops looked so good.
What kind of fabric did you use (I'm still learning about different kinds of fabric)? I love how it drapes, plus I love the print.

Here is a link for the fabric.

I had bought it for my bros wedding but ended up doing a blouse out of black Georgette with pink flowers because I couldn't find a pattern for this one.

As Bob Ross used to say "A happy mistake".
It looks great on you. I think if I make myself a wrap dress, I'll sew the side seams in as well.

It is beautiful -- but I think I would wear it without the jeans.
Really, great mistake.
