I noticed that Mary's tip letter was on cuffs. A real short cut is to make a "cheater" cuff. You just fold your shirt or pant sleeve at the fold line and then, at the top of the unfinished edge, fold the garment from the outside so that it wraps over the unfinished edge. At this point you can just run a top stitch 1/4 inch from the edge of your foldline. Press from the inside so that the "false cuff" edge is toward the shoulder. This makes a nice fake cuff, a quick, clean edge. It is great for sports blouses and kids' clothing.

Thank you Pam, I am soon to start a boys derss shirt with short sleeves and may cuff the shirt sleeves sort of short to make Matthews skinny muscular arms look fatter.

I"ve also done this on little kids' shorts. It gives a little dressier look to some of the sailcloth/poplin/linen shorts.

because I am spatially-challenged. Great tip! I will try it on my next kid outfit which should be any day now.

And I thought it was just me. But once I got it, I like the idea!
