My husband and I have to go to court the 24 for a custody hearring for 2 boys we have been trying to get for over two years. We have been working with a social worker whom has gone on maternity leave. We had an ISP meeting scheduled for the 12th. I called for 2 weeks to see if this was still going to happen. I was told by the Old social workers supervisor and the new social worker that they had never heard of us and there was nothing about us anywhere. She told me I needed to go file papers have a home study and other odds and ends. We did this 2 years ago and passed everything. The social worker that we had never filled out any of the paper work. Now we have to go through it all again. This has made my husband I no longer believe in the system. I just pray they get everything togather before the24th. Thanks for your prayers Catherine

I don't believe in the system anymore either Catherine, We went to court to get custody of my grandson a few years ago because his mother was on drugs bad at that time and they gave her the boy and let her move away with him. He's 16 now and the good Lord took our prayers and she finally got help for her problem and is now clean. Turns out her Grandfather was dating a lady who worked in the court house and worked close to the judge and she pulled strings to get it to go her way. I will pray for you and keep you in my thoughts. Please let us know how everything goes on the 24th. Hugs Susie I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

How frustrating and how sad for the little boys. They have a loving home waiting, and ar going to be delayed in the system that much longer. Good luck and keep us posted. We'll support you as you work through the system again.

Best wishes to you and your husband. I know a couple of families who keep foster children. They have become so frustrated with DHR that one of them is going to switch to a christian organization and keep foster kids for them from now on. This lady has adopted 3 of her foster children. Last year she had 8 children living in her home. I don't know how she does it. She is so patient and understanding with these kids. Just very frustrated with their social workers. I've heard several stories about the system in our state from different people over the years. My family also had 2 foster children for a while (not at the same time) when I was a teenager. I remember alot of frustration for my parents when that was going on. |

Catherine, how heartbreaking, frustrating and irritating; the system loses many through the cracks. But how heartwarming that you and your DH have the tenacity to fight for these little ones. My prayers are for lots of strength to keep up the fight and a wonderful outcome for your efforts. Patty
