My Dd had an interview yesterday for the International Baclauriatte program at her school. She did well with the interview & they were impressed with her grades & volunteer programs. I think she has a chance.
It is a great opportunity & helps a lot for getting into college. It also takes a lot of extra work & dedication but she says she is ready for that.
We should know in a couple of weeks if she was accepted.

How wonderful for her! She will be able to write her own ticket to any university. There are some interesting sites for her final year as well. I was worried mine would want to go someplace like Wales, but stayed at home.
Wish her luck.

She really likes a program at a university in Northern Wissconsin but right now that is too far from home. Maybe next year when she starts applying it will seem OK to her. It will never be close enough for me as this is my baby.
But I will try not to let her know how I feel unless she asks.
I just found this web site if anyone wants to know more about the program.

How exciting for her and for your family, though I know how you feel about one of your babies not being under (or close) to your wings. My baby just moved back to the prairies and I am really missing that 6'2 baby of mine.

She got her letter today. Sandy has been accepted into the IB program!!!! They are having an induction ceromony for that on May 31st. Right after the ceromony they are going to have the induction into Honor Society. I am glad they are thinking & put them on the same night since most IB students will be in both.

Thank You everyone! We went to a party at DD's tonight.(the one having twins) A lot of her friends were there & most of them were in the top of the class. They had 11 tie for Valedictorian that year & I think 5 were there tonight. I let them all know that Becky's sister was going one step further than they did. I think it made her feel good that they were all asking her about it. It also gives her more people watching to make sure she really finishes. If she stays as motivated as she is now she won't have any problems. I just can't believe this is the same girl that took 3 hrs. to write spelling sentences in 3rd grade & 4th grade book reports were like pulling teeth.

Right now her first choice is Northland University in Northern Wisconsin. She wants to major in sceince Either enviromental or Biology. She has a 2 yr. scholarship at our Community college that she received in 6th grade. It is sponsored by our police dept. & they give out about 300 at risk students each yr. to 6th graders (dd received it the 2nd yr. given out). The only requirement is they have to graduate with their class & not have any major discipline problems. I wasn't sure why she was at risk & found out because neither parent went to college & we had more than 2 children she was considered at risk for not having a chance to go. I am hoping she uses this scholarship & can defer any others she gets to finish her degree after the basics are done.
College is still 2 yrs. off but I know the time will fly! The last 15 yrs. have.
