I have sewn since I was 12. Made clothes for me and my daughters, jeans for my son and husband. Favorite accomplishment was a brushed denim suit for my husband. Now I sew for my 11 grandchildren. Recently retired and started quilting. My husband made me a quilting frame and I have quilted two lap quilts. Love my sewing machines and sergers (one each is never enough)!! My stash is unbelievable - over 16 plastic tubs and growing all the time! Love to teach friends and family to sew.

Thank you Greatseams. I lived in Pensacola for 10 years and moved to Milton in 1975. Sure hate to see our Hancocks store closing. I've shopped there since their grand opening. JoAnns is getting better and hopefully will improve.

Nice to meet you.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! I was wondering what the Emerald Coast was. I'm learning so much here, lol.
You have quite a stash indeed! A while back we were looking at our thread stashes, that was an eye-opening experience!
Anyway, my fabric stash is almost (but not quite) contained in one dresser. And I've only been sewing a year. Kinda scary, isn't it?

My favorite place in the world!! Have spent most of our summer vacations at Navarre Beach for the last 31 years!! In fact, we have reservations in early July...now going with grandchildren... And my son settled in Lynn Haven (just outside of Panama city..) Give me the beach any day...esp. those beautiful white beaches!!

Hi kdbkelly,
I didn't move to Pensacola until September of 1971...to attend UWF, and didn't discover Hancocks until 1972...and my sewing life has never been the same. The store closing is like saying good-bye to an old and dear friend...it hurts so bad!!! Everyone there from the manager, to each and every employee are just the best... I honestly don't know what will happen to them.
Well...this will definately force me to sew up my stash! I bought a TON of zippers, interfacing, buttons, thread, etc within the last few weeks... so I think that I'm set. Thanks to a few friends, but mostly this site, I have found online fabric as well as notions stores... No...I am NOT a Joann Fabrics shopper...so online it will have to be!
a few spare hours, a stash of fabric, and a well oiled machine...
