Good Morning all. I was wondering if I could request a favor from some of you. I tried looking on Joann's website for this fabric and no luck. I have bought the fabric there in the past. I am looking for a fabric called Trigger Poplin, I have used it in the past to make waitress aprons. I live 50 miles from the closest Joann's or any other fabric store. With the gawd-awful price of gas it isn't worth it to me to make a special trip just to look for the material. If anyone who is going to their Joann's store in the next day or two could just see if they carry that fabric anymore. I would be curious to know the yardage price and the width of fabric. Any help in the information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:smile:

Hey Barbara,

Can you possibly post a picture? I'll be happy to check it out in our local stores by name if you can't post a pic. I get down to JoAnn's every couple of weeks or so. Probably next week. We could even rendevous if I find it! How's that?

Hi Lennie, Unfortunately I cannot post a picture because I don't have any more of that material. It has been years since I bought it. I usually go down to Temecula or Hemet once a month to do all my big shopping. I was just there 2 weeks ago so I probably won't be going again for awhile. That is very kind of you to offer the rendevous, but you probably shop in Escondido or Poway. That is going the opposite direction for me. I really appreciate the offer though. You are very sweet. After I posted this request it dawned on me to just call the store. Duh!! on my part. Oh and I would like to wish you an early Birthday Wish.:bday: We were born in the same month. Thanks again. Barbara

Hi again Barbara,

You're right. I end up at either Poway or El Cajon. I don't go to the JoAnn's in Escondido very often. It's dirty and I just don't care for it. The Poway one's not much better. The El Cajon store is the best by far, go figure! :re: Any of the three is exactly an hour's drive for me.

I figured we could rendevous at Santa Ysabel before or after you finish work. That's not too far for you at all and it's on the way home for me.

Next time. Keep me in mind and we can p.m. phone #'s if I can help you out at all. It'd be my pleasure.

And thank you so much for the early b'day wishes. That's very sweet of you to notice. I hope your b'day was fun. Sorry we missed it here.

Check out the Hancocks' site. They have it in the stores as it is a very popular fabric, esp. in the summertime.

Anza Joann's has an online store. Maybe you could order it via the internet and have it delivered. You're right with today's gas prices (and Oklahoma has some of the lowest in the country still even at ($2.69)) even the internet delivery charge might be cheaper.

If I remember correctly, (and it is certainly possible I do not:re: ), what Joann's calls trigger poplin was called broadcloth. You might want to search for this name also, order a small quantity, and see if it serves your needs. My first project, a jumper in 7th grade Home Ec, was made from "broadcloth".

Broadcloth is considerably lighter than poplin or trigger. Actually, the current poplin is a little closer to what we used to call sailcloth. It is smooth like the old poplin. Poplin was always just a bit heavier than broadcloth. THey are kind of reinventing fabrics...very strange...just like duck and canvas are being called the same thing but they are a little different too.

They might be calling it Rodeo poplin. I know our JoAnn sells trigger but only in a few colors.
