Hello! I just came upon this site looking for info about how to use fusible backing for a applique quilt project I am doing for my grandson. I have found an abundance of helpful info for a few things here. I hope to chat with you again soon. |

Hello Ladies..Sorry haven't been on my computer for a couple of days dh had to have a heart cath done yesterday and then back to the drs for a ck up today. But all is well. He already had a quadruple by pass and it will be 2yrs in Aug. So we were a bit worried but all is well. We live in a small town called Chester, WV. We are the most northern tip top of the state. We cross the bridge over the Ohio river and can be in Ohio in 10 min. and can be in Pennsylvania in 30 min. I wanted to ask a quilting question. I have a cute teddybear applique pattern I want to do for my grandson. I love to hand applique. But the pattern says to use this paper fusible we and I haver not ever used it. I took a class a couple of yrs ago and we used an iron stuff call 911. Does the other fusible get stiff and hard on the pattern. Ethan has downs syndrome and he loves to hug his quilts. So what is your opinion? Thanks for your interest..Carolyn |

Carolyn I don't know what 911 is but I use Steam a Seam 2 and it doesn't get hard and stiff. However, if you want to hand applique the Teddy Bear when you trace it, just allow a 1/8 to 1/4" seam allowance to turn under as you hand applique. I have a niece (my goddaughter) that lives in Steubenville Ohio which is probably pretty close to you across the Ohio River. Patsy Patsy
