Twin granddaughters are due in 6 weeks. DD went for an ultrasound last Wed. & Mia (baby A) has turned breech. They have both been head down since the first ultrasound until now! It looks like a C section for her unless She turns back before labor. She is also pushing her sister Kayla out so her butt is always sticking out. DD looks so lopsided most of the time.
I really hope she has them before school gets out. I would like a couple of days off to help out. I get my teeth out the monday after school gets out so am afraid I might not be a lot of help for a couple of days.
How is everyone else doing in the waiting game?

Keep us posted on DD and babies. I'm sure they'll make up their minds when the time comes to enter the world.
How many teeth are you getting out? I need to get into the dental chair myself. have a great day and take care. gena

Looks like it will be a C section. Both Babies were breech for a while. In today's ultrasound Baby B (Kayla) had turned back over but not Mia. Dr. doesn't hold out much hope for her moving now with 4 weeks to go. They have scheduled an ultrasound for 3 weeks. C section will be scheduled then if she doesn't go into labor first. The babies are 5.6 lbs & 6 lbs. right now with a month to still gain so I don't think we will need premie clothes. DD gained 14 lbs. in 3 weeks so Dr. recomended cutting down on the comfort foods (ice cream) but isn't really worried as long as she doesn't keep gaining. I will let you know as soon as I know more.

To answer the teeth? I am having all of my top teeth out & an upper plate in. DR. said I could have kept them a few more yrs. but the cost would have been about the same & I would have to have this done in about 5 yrs. The way ins. is going I wasn't sure I would have any in 5 yrs. so I decided to do it now.

I haven't done much sewing of clothes for them. They had 2 showers & got so many newborn to 6 month clothes that I decided to wait until they were a little bigger to make clothes. But I have made sheets, diaper stacker & burp rags. It looks like it will be June 8th unles she goes into labor early. As of Wed. ultrasound the girls are estimated at 5lbs 10 oz. & 6 lb 3 oz. & they still have 3 weeks to grow.

DD went for a non-stress test today & everything went well except that she was having some small regular contractions (every 5 min) the Dr. checked her & said all was well & he will see her next week & they will talk about scheduling a C section since Mia is still breech.
I am hoping for labor & delivery before the 8th (last day of school) but Will be happy with healthy babies together they are over 12 lbs. already.

It just occurred to me - won't this mean that the twins will be born under the sign of Gemini - the twins. Almost makes you wonder if there's something in it.

How exciting for you, Barb. Sound like they'll be a good size and healthy.

(My brothers were 6# and 7#7oz identical twins 5 min. apart way back in 1958 when that was huge for twins. And we're not big people in our family.)

Good luck, anxious to see the pics.

June 6 is the same birthday as my ds.

June is a great month for birthdays because its smack bang in the middle of the year so it makes it nice and easy to spread out the presents between birthdays and Christmas.

Look forward to seeing your little girls soon - although not as much as you and your dd I'm sure.

I'm here! They started her C section about an hour late. We just got home about 1/2 hr ago.

Mia was born at 4:43 PM & Kayla was born at 4:45 PM.
They both weighed 5 lbs 14 oz. & were both 19" long. Dad watched to make sure they didn't weigh the same 1 twice. They are all doing great but Mom(DD) is exausted.
Here are some pictures

I will try to get some better ones tomorrow.

Congralations Grandma! Will you be Grandma or is there another family title awaiting you?

They are just so precious.

Hope for your daughters sake they are well behaved little girls and sleep lots so she can get some rest. The idea of twins when they're older is pretty cute but as babies the whole idea gives me chills (neither of mine were good sleepers).

Keep us up to date with photos and news.

Yes Lennie they are identical.
Pauline I will be Grandma. I will be the only one. Their daddies mom died a few years ago. They do have 1 Great-Grandma (my MIL) but she doesn't interact with people much anymore do to health (some mental) problems.
I can't wait to get up there & hold them again but I have to work today until first visiting hours are over. So I
will have to wait until later.

What an exciting time Barb. I am near tears remembering how wonderful the name grandma sounds in the mouths of my grandchildren. I just spent 7days with 3 of them and loved most of it. Keep us posted as time permits. You are so blessed to have 6 children and even grandchildren. How many do you have now??

I have 4 grandchildren The oldest will be 9 next month & his brother just turned 6 & now we have added the girls. I will try to scan the picture oldest daughter gave me tonight with all 4 in the same picture. The boys really love their cousins. The oldest gave up bike racing the day they were born to see them.
Thank You all for all the nice comments & well wishes. I can't wait to spend more time with them now that school is out.
