Has anyone had, or know anyone who has had, a baby while being on an insulin pump? I've had Type 1 diabetes for 22 years, and was put on a pump 7 months ago. Now that my diabetes has been regulated, mostly, I'm back to thinking about having a baby. My doctor is very enthusiastic about it. (However, most of the patients in his practice are a bit older than me--I'm thinking he wants a new challenge! :re:
Theoretically, my blood sugar is supposed to be kept within 30 mg/dl of 120 while pregnant, but I haven't been able to do that while sober! (no, wait, sober isn't right. Barren? Empty? Unoccupied?) I'm trying to keep eating low carb and keep up exercising, as I've lost 35 lbs in the last 7 months.
Any words of encouragement/true stories would be greatly appreciated!!
