Hello everyone, I hope you are ready for another sewing tip.

We have all seen crinkled fabric. These fabrics have their own distinct personalities. Be choosy when picking out a pattern. Keep your garment plain and simple. Let the fabric be the star. These fabrics are perfect for long, swingy summer skirts.

Have you ever seen so many skirt patterns lately, they are very popular this season. I am thinking of sewing up a few and wearing footless tights underneath. My sewing room/office is cool with ceramic floors and our weather is never hot.

I will be back next week with more sewing tips. Until then
please feel free to add your sewing comments to any of my sewing tips. Thanks for your time and enjoy your day.

Hi Mary-
Just a note about that crinkle fabric. I had been dieing to get my paws on some & caught some on sale & washed it & took it to my sewing teacher with a top pattern - only to discover that it had shrank up too much to use. Pooh! Another lesson learned the hard way.

Mary, I just laid out some medium blue rayon crinkle for a skirt! I'm thinking maybe I better send it through the washer/dryer again.

Where's a good skirt pattern for such as this? I need a plus size. I wonder if they look okay on a plus size? According to a Clothing Advisor, I am of "Elegant Build". Mme. Ramotswe (of the "No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency" series of books by Alexander McCall Smith (they are wonderful)) calls herself a "traditionally sized lady"!

I don't see a problem if you are tall enough to handle the length. Most of these skirts are mid calf length.
