Hello Ladies, I came across this site while googling "how to buy a sewing machine." I have never sewn before and just started taking a class at the local adult school. It's strange to be the student and not the teacher. I just turned in my resignation from teaching and am looking forward to staying home with my 2 year old (special needs) triplet boys and getting acquainted with sewing. I just wanted to introduce myself before I posted my first question down on the machines section. Deborah |

Welcome Deb, I saw your post about sewing machines but will leave the answering of that to somebody better suited and a bit more local to you (I'm in Australia). This is a very friendly and helpful site so I'm sure somebody will come along soon with some ideas. Hope to see you here often and wish you luck with sewing. It sounds like you need to sew for practical reasons but it may well become a sanity saver for you as well. Pauline

Hi Deborah, and welcome. Sewing is a lot of fun, and also therapy! Sometimes just sewing a seam makes me feel better. I think it is pretty neat that you are taking a class. I wish I had something like that where I live. Good luck to you, and I hope to "see you" around the site.

Hi Deborah, welcome to this group. You will make a lot of new friends and learn a lot of helpful info. Congrats on your 3 special boys and being able to sew for them. What type of machine are you looking to buy? It's wonderful to be able to take lessons as many places do not offer them even at the Vo-Tech Schools and Community Colleges. We look forward to hearing from you. Happy Stitching! Marty |
