Hi,

I am so excited, many months ago I asked about Janome
sewing/embroidery machine, well, unfortunately I had to reevaluate my wants/needs as I had to have some teeth out and a partial plate put in. so when I did that I had to rethink what I really wanted for a machine and I now am the proud owner of a Janome Model DC. 3050. it is only the second machine I have ever owned, my Montgomery wards is about 29/30 years old.
so I am going to find lots of things to sew.

Judy I'm spoiled to the Janome stitch. I have two Janome's the 9000 and the Sew Precise I take to the quilt shop. I love the way they stitch. Enjoy I know you will. Hugs
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Thank you all for your good wishes,

I played all afternoon yesterday with it, and almost for got to start supper, they were going to give me lessons on it but I wear hearing aids, and I have to see what some one is saying, because usually if some one is telling you how to do some thing they are standing almost to the back of you to the right espcially with sewing, so Instead I came home and started on page one and went all the way thru the instruction book until I pretty much know what every thing was.

When I got my Janome, (1993 or 1994) I got a piece of flag blue bottom weight cotton poly blend (trigger maybe??) and started with the 1st stitch and wend in order and made a sampler of each and every stitch it made.. (not the alphabets, I only made a sample of the 2 A's) That way there were no surprises as to what size the pattern would turn out to be.. I love my Janome.. If I were a young person , I might think of one that would also embroider, but I'm 72 almost 73, and no one in my family sews.. (yet) so, I get people in the Guild to do projects for me, if I have to have one..I pay , of course..I do love the variety of stitches my machine has.. You can really make some elegant looking outfits with those stitches..

Yes, I am having lots of fune on my machine, I have made a skirt, and a red and white striped pullover blouse, the skirt is red linen, It is so quiet that my husband doesn't hear me sewing in the middle of the night when I can't sleep, if I go to bed too early I'm awake hours before I have to get up,

Besides the smooth great 7 piece feed system and lovely stitches, I think Janome makes the quietest machines of all. One of my machines is a Janome made Kenmore (like the Janome 4400 or 4800) and it is the one that has the most stitches that I use for my deco sewing. I am a night owl and I live in an apt. and when I sew late at night with this machine I know I am not bothering my sleeping neighbors because they are on both sides of me and above me.
When watching TV sewing with this machine, the machine is so quiet I can still hear every word on the TV.

I'm in the same situation. Dentist wants me to get implants, but at 70, that route is too expensive for me considering my health and I'd rather spend my pennies on a new serger.
