Clotilde is having a fabulous book sale. One of the books included is by Claire Schaeffer called "Sewing Smart with Fabric". This book appears to be an updated version of a book I bought 15 years ago which has a listing of all kinds of fabrics, techniques, needles, special applications and care for those fabrics! It is well worth the asking price of $24.95. I paid almost $50 for my copy way back when...but to get it for $4.95 is a STEAL!!! They also have some a really good fitting book on sale, although not with such a great savings called "Sewing for Plus sizes". It is only $3 off but a great book! There is a book called "Creative Serging which is also $3 off but might not be as helpful as the other two. There are several great looking quilt books, some books on home dec...looks like a sale worth checking out if you have the time. Hi Pam, I don't think the 'Sewing Smart with Fabric' is the same book...It's a House of White Birches volume edited by Jeanne Stauffer. I had to enlarge the pic to see the name. There are some good books in there...unfortunately I already have some of them, and don't really have room for any more. Having said that, I can feel the site calling my name...books are my biggest weakness.

You were right. The fabric book came yesterday and I was disappointed. It had projects in it and some good information but was not nearly as comprehensive as I had hoped and was geared a little differently than I expected. At least it wasn't expensive and it does have some useful things in it!

I got this today if anybody is interested - the offer that is (the accompanying email said it was their last day) - a couple of the books look okay (embellishing) but if I bought them by the time I paid for postage I might as well have paid full price!
