Hi all, Have just joined the group... Being the computer guru that I am, it has taken me a while to figure out even how to post in "Introduce Yourself." Have been sewing for about 50 years, since I was a teenager-when dinosaurs still roamed the earth - mainly for a hobby and when the children or I needed something special. Now I have grandchildren who are needing something special. Current project is trying to make pants for myself that fit [I]perfectly! Can fit my now adult children, but not myself so well. Looking forward to the group. Thanks. Lila |

Welcome Lila Sew Gene. I'm another one that's been around since the dinosaurs roamed the earth. LOL Anyway, it just so happens that there is a great series of lessons by Julie Culshaw on this site that teaches how to fit and sew great fitting pants. It's on the front page on the right hand side front page of this site. Patsy Patsy

Hi Lila, and welcome to the group! I am not very proficient with computers, so I understand the accomplishment of first time posting. Pretty soon you will even be posting pictures of your creations!

Hi Lila and welcome. I have fitting issues too but in my case it's just a matter of lots of trying on (inside out) - so I can get lots of fine tuning done. I'm not sure how much help it'll be for pants but there is a post on duct tape dress forms in General Sewing that might be of interest for other fitting issues. Pauline

Hi Lila, Welcome to the group. Do you have any fitting books that might help you resolve the issues? I'm a sewing book addict and can recommend "Pants for Real People" as a good resource. You should be able to find it in your local library. Hope this helps. Marty |
