OK, I finished the twirl skirt. I tried to make it the other night, but I had a heck of a time with the bottom tier. It was huge, with 3 panels around, and the previous panel to attch to had 2 panels. I couldn't seem to gather it with the bobbin thread, and the gathering foot for my sewing machine made it too small. So this evening I divided the tier into 4 parts, and started and stopped the basting at each one of the divisions. I then marked the skirt into 4 pieces, and gathered it piece by piece. That was pretty simple. I guess I don't think that clearly at close to midnight, lol.

Some of the folks here had recomended using the butterfly fabric for a ruffle, but I didn't have enough material, so I used it for the center tier.
So here it is:

and here is the butterfly top and skort I finished the other day, this time with DD in it:

Thank you everyone! My confidence has really increased.
When my daughter wore the top and skort to school, the same teacher who had made a questionable comment earlier about a jumper I had made for her, asked who had made this outfit for her. So I must be getting better!

Miss Tara Tara, the skirt is McCalls Easy Stitch 'n Save M5159, and the butterfly top and skort is McCall's 3677.
The ruffle on the top I added as it was way too short for her (she is a skinny little girl), and I have since learned to add 2 inches to the length of any tops I cut out for her.
