I am partial to Vanilla Fields. Makes me smell like cookies. Been wearing that scent for over ten years.

Issey Miyake..... Because the scent is like spring - delicate with a faint lily of the valley with a hint of citrus. A friend gave it to me about 13 years ago and I have worn it ever since.

My daughter said she would like a sophisticated perfume now that she is turning 20.....(sitting back and chuckling to myself now) and asked for Burberry London for her birthday. I had never smelled it until she gave me a sample out of a magazine, but I think it is a bit "mature" for her youth. Not sure how it will react to her skin either.

I love Shiseido...but never wear it as we are not allowed to wear any perfumed products at work....to be respectful of people with allergies. It is gradually evaporating from the bottle over time.

Pure Poison by Christian Dior and I also love Dune also by Dior. Guess I'm a Dior girl.

Both were chosen by dh and I loved them each as soon as I smelled them.

Byzance (for night time) and White Linen (for day). Dh doesn't like Byzance much though.

What I really like is Opium but it smells terrible on me. Just yummy on everyone else.

I don't wear any perfume at all, DH gets all stuffed up when I ever wore any, so if he bought it, then I knew he'd be able to tolerate it. If I could, I'd like something that smelled fresh, like newly mown grass or something like that. Or citrusy.

I wear several different scents, depending on my mood and what I am wearing. I change them as often as my avatar.
My favorites are really spicy like Opium or dry like Dune.

I like the spicy ones best because they like me.. Ciara, Cinnabar, are two of my favorites.. And, I don't care for Liz Taylor, but I love Poison and White Diamonds.. Years ago when I was married, H (no D in front of that) gave me a bottle of Chanel no. 5 for my birthday.. Had to give it away.. He said it smelled like Corral no 10 on my skin.. (my own Mother agreed that my body chemistry did awful things to that fragrance)

Stella by Stella McCartney. Smells like spring flowers after rain - and the scent stays with you - doesn't wear away but is not overpowering. Having said that, I mostly wear Impulse Body spray.

Can't go near Opium or Poison - I end up with breathing difficulties.

Jan - I am the same way about Poison and Opium! And is one of the reason's I started this discussion. There is a men's aftershave or cologne that has the same effect. I have had to move in concerts and church when around someone with it on, yet look how popular it is here. The first time I smelled it was when my daughter received some as a gift. I thought I would gag everytime she went out. :bolt: She also wore too much.

I like a toilet water rather than perfume. Toilet water is a little stronger than cologne and seems to last longer. An old lover liked me to wear the spicy stuff - Tabu was one he liked but I was never comfortable wearing it. Guess that is why he is old and gone. I am more comfortable with a light floral or green scent. I am going to look for that Stella and Issey Miyake. I have worn Je Revien for close to 40 years  I like Arpege by Lanvin but have not been able to find the toilet water for many years. One of the children got me the perfume several years ago, but it is not the same on me. My mother used to wear White Shoulders, but it is entirely different on me than was on her.

I do understand not wearing scents in public and used to warn student nurses not to wear any lest the scent make an ill patient recall the scent later (awful to have your favourite scent remind you of being ill). Avon skin so soft was used once when I was ill 30 years ago and the situation still comes back any time I smell it- and it is popular around here as it is supposed to repel mosquitoes. I am always surprised that even a slight scent can evoke such memories. Who remembers wearing Evening in Paris? :re:

I do miss giving myself a bit of a spray when feeling dressed up and rich when going out! I do find that everything seems to be scented these days and many clash.

Armarige by Givenchy is my poison of choice. Followed by Paris, and Fidgi. Just got a bottle of Red Door as my back-up day smelly!
LOVE the smell of Chanel No 5, but smells awful on me. But I have been known to scent my clothes with it, rather than me. Then I have no problems.
Can't go near anything with Vanilla in it, as it gives me migraines.
Cheers, Soph.

My favorite is Happy by Clinique, but I also like White Linen. I've worn it forever. I worry sometimes that it's too old fashioned, and I'll smell like an old lady, lol! I had an aunt that wore Tweed, and I always thought she smelled like onions!

My fav is from Victoria Secret in their dream angel's collection. I love the heavenly scent. They just came out with a new one that is not bad either.

It has such a soft, clean, fresh scent. Reminds me of those days when you get to sit in a newly cleaned house and you didn't clean it.

I'm not really schooled in perfumes, as I don't wear them. A couple of my sisters used to have awful allergies when I still lived at home, so I never got into the habit. Although, whenever I wanted to annoy another sister, I wore musk. She HATED it with a passion. I always thought it smelled nice though.

My favorite fragrance now is my husband's aftershave. I'm not sure which one it is. He's got Stetson and Musk for Men on his bureau, and I just smelled both of them. They smell pretty lousy right out of the bottle, but when he puts it on...yow! :bg: Or maybe I just like him? :bluewink: LOL!
