Has anyone ever made the polymer clay beads? I am very interested in making the little dolls or animals to make bracelets and necklaces. I purchased a book at Hobby Lobby explaining how to do this but they are coming out too big. Does anyone have advice on how to make these smaller, actually about the size of a penny. Here's a link to the beads i'm talking about.

I think you have to roll the canes very small.
I don't think I would try those as a beginner thing.
You can make interesting buttons with polymer clay

Those are bigger than a penny.. That is a penny peeking from the slot between her arms, did you see it.. ?? The penny between the dolls is to show their size, but look at the one on the left.. See the top of the penny sticking out??

Yes I saw the penny, but the ones i've tried making was much bigger than that lol. I sat down and tried another last night and it turned out the right size. I also learned that it's easier to start from the bottom up. The key is to gently put the pieces together, if not the pieces will end up mashing together (if that makes sense lol) I have yet to put them in the oven to see if they turn out right. I will post pics when i'm finished.

Mary,
I made some -- admittedly they are pretty thick -- that I put on the top of a short slit on pants legs so they get bumped around a lot. They have been washed and dried a lot -- favorite pants. In fact the pants are so worn that I'm about ready to toss them out. I'll take the buttons off though.
So yeah, you can wash them. But I tried rubber stamping some and I wouldn't try washing them. But I used fabric ink so maybe if you got the right ink.
