I'm jealous. You'll have to make sure you post your creations.

All my quilt shops are on the other side of town. But when the house gets built, I will be right around the corner (a subconscious move bonus!) And both kids will be at school then. How is that for good planning!
Cheers, Soph.

Gina...I'm happy for you!

The LQS that I frequented has relocated and no longer sells fabrics. They are only repairing sewing machines and now providing mostly sewing classes. But there is a new QS that has opened in my area and I'm starting to frequent that one. It's sure nice to have one around.

Gina that is great. Just in time too, no kids at home. Yeaaaa Katrina helped me move closer. Instead of being 70 miles now I'm only around 35 miles. But it's worth the drive. I spend the day in the shop and feel so relaxed when I leave.

material_pakrat, Does that new house have a quilting and sewing room? Yeahhh I bet it does.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Gina....another big plus about having a LQS is you will be able to meet friends with your same interest in sewing. Our LQS has a group of quilters that broke away from our local guild and meets at the shop once a week.

I'm not sure how many sew in your family, but since NO ONE does except me.....it can get a little lonely! I am also the only one that gardens (well, and bakes too). Amazing, but my sewing friends also have the same interests outside of sewing.

You will love this Gina......... oh, and I am so excited because now when you need illustrations for your book of poems, you can use the quilts you have made.

Well Patty,

Family for me is 1200 miles away. My sister does quilt and they are beautiful. But they are squares with sashing and she ties them. She has no interest in "quilting" her quilts (tying works) or experimenting with other types of blocks. I on the other hand want to try everything and never finish anything. Funny how the oldest child (practical and responsible), youngest child (whimsical and irrisponsible) thing still goes on even though we are in our 30's and 40's. OOPS!!! Did I just admit that I am irresponsible?

I am hoping to find a home at this quilt shop. I still cringe at the prices being a Wal-mart girl noramally, but I have come to a realization. I am not just paying for the fabric, service is included in the price.

Hehehehe The architect was told he could change any part of the house to fit it on the block except the "Rumpus" room. And he didn't listen, and tried to take a 3 feet off one end of it, saying that it was too big a room (twice the size of my lounge.). Some men just don't understand. But he knows now, and has even renamed it on the plans to a "sewing studio" now.

No Gina. You just admitted to being whimsical !!!!!!!!!! And wasn't there something the other day about being "Impish" too?? It all sounds good to me.

I ordered a new quiltting frame and machine Wednesday and we are going to have to build a new room on for the thing. It's 10 feet long and needs to have at least 2 feet on one side and 10 inches on the other side to fit in the room. It's also 4 feet wide and I need to be able to get around to the back of it so I can use the stencil tools. Hubby informed me it would be easier to make a room then to fit it in the two rooms I have in this trailer. So I get a new sewing studio for my quilt machine. I can't wait. The machine comes in 3 weeks.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Hey Susie...you've got to fill us in! What kind are you getting? I've been thinking about one but they are quite expensive up here and we can't get a variety of makes. But yesterday the :Canada: dollar hit a 30 year high...so maybe this is the time I should start looking into them again. :bluesmile
