Has anyone heard much about Febreeze, such as it causing nosebleeds?? I have it in my Tide and in my fabric softner, and for the past few months have had nosebleeds for no reason. Mentioned it to the youngest daughter who is here with her new baby and she won't have it in the house, she said she was having nosebleeds with it in the house as well, and the baby was getting all stuffed up. So today I've been rewashing stuff with a non-febreeze fabric soap. So I'm just curious, what have you heard about it??

Haven't heard anything about that but I have to go check my softner I have been having a horrible time with my nose being dry and when I blow my nose it's bleeds. I wonder what's in my fabric softner I'll check and let you know.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

It just seemed weird that both my daughter and I were having the same problem. I will do some on line research and see what else I can find out. She won't have it in the house, has heard all sorts of nasty things about it.

You know that could have been the reason for my nose bleeds winter before last.
My aunt in Ohio and my Uncle ( who is now decease) all had nose bleeds about the same time.
One weekend I had 7 nose bleeds.
We never could figure out what caused them and why we all three had them about the same time. Weird. !
I am glad you found the cause for you and your daughter found the cause of hers. pinkroses

Febreeze and Nosebleeds? I could find nothing about it anywhere. The only thing I found about Febreeze being harmful was at Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/febreze.asp) and the disproved it.
It is possible that you your daughter and your grandbaby have the same hypersensitivity to an ingeredient in Febreeze.
Febreeze is pretty much water with modified starch (starches in this class are approved by the FDA as food additives), 1% or less zinc chloride (about the same amount as what's in eyedrops), preservative and perfume.

What exactly was the nasty stuff your daughter heard about Febreeze? I use it all over my house weekly so I am a bit curious.

I've never heard of that either. Maybe you and your daughter have an allergy to it.
Having a dog and a cat in the house, I use the Febreze spray almost every day and have never had a problem with it. I use both the one for pets and the antimicrobial one, depending on where I spray it. Regular air fresheners choke me, but I love the Febreze fabric sprays. I didn't care for their new air fresheners tho because it settles on the floor and makes it wet.

I have a friend that's very sensitive to certain laundry detergents. She has to use fragrance free ones. Maybe it's the perfume in the Febreeze that's causing the nosebleeds. I just read on the bottle that one ingredient in it comes from corn.

It's really wierd because both her and my grandson are covered in little bumps from the sheets, and he was wearing a shirt i made him which had been washed it tide with febreeze and his little tummy is covered in a bumpy rash. Maybe it is just a hypersensitivity

It sounds like it could be an allergy/hypersensitivity issue. You could switch to something else and see if the problems go away? Of course it's always hard to tell for sure, but it does seem to be heavy on the perfume, which some people could be sensitive to.

I know it gives me asthma. Only short term when I spray it but that was enough for me to throw it out. I don't think it's an added ingredient in anything here.

We can't use it in our house because it will kill parrots but then a lot of cleaners will..we have to be very careful. Teflon will kill them too...even a self-cleaning oven will kill them (killed 69 parrots that belonged to a friend of mine in less than 5 min.)
