I'm watching the pageant right now and boy has it changed since I was young. The pics they took of those girls look like they should be on a playboy magazine instead of the Miss Universe Show. Some of them were posed laying on their stomachs in a provocative way. Looks like the beauty pageants are even promoting sex. Call me old fashion but I don't like them doing these things.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I think it was on NBC. I was pulling for Ms Venezuela or Ms Brazil. They were very pretty.

Even as a child I wondered "If it's a beauty pagent why do we care that she wants to save the starving children and find a cure for cancer. If it's "Wonderfull person" pagent why do we care how she looks in a bathing suit?" Today I understand the World better and realize that anything that sells works. Have fun or don't do it, Tom

My concern was that little girls were going to see these pics when they were watching the pageant and think the way they had them posing was cool. There's too much today out there advertising sex to the young people today. I'm no prude but I just think they could have had the evening gown, the talent, and the bathing suit without the provocative pictures of them laid out there like sex goddess's. It shocked me they showed these beautiful women in that manner. One of the poses had one of them where she looked like she was crawling on her knees with her elbow bent and her forearms on the ground. Just struck me the wrong way. Poor Miss Louisiana slipped and fell in her evening gown walk. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I felt bad for the girl that fell too. They booed her because of her politics apparently. "the" Donald keeps telling how very successful and popular the show is but I don't know.

I stand corrected it wasn't Miss Louisiana who fell it was Miss USA. Sorry They did boo her while she was trying to answer the question and I thought it was wrong too. She's not responsible for the US policy no more than Miss Mexico is responsible for their gov's Policy. People are people and should be judged by who they are and not where they come from and some American's are responsible for kind of behavior too sometimes and I think it's horrible. Sorry I got off subject. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I went to a dance show ( for little 'uns) and they seemed to be teaching routines to 6 and 7 year olds( bad enough to the 12 -13's) that were diliberately sexually provocative. I seemed to be the only one in the audience who was offended - every one else thought they were 'cute'. Let kids be kids for crying out loud! In this I am glad to be out of step with the rest of humanity in the 'civilised' world.
love and kisses, Jan

I'm with you on that 100 %, Jan.. I get so embarrassed watching some of the dance steps today.. And the bands in the parades, also.. Around here are so terrible to watch.. They are too much even for the HS students..

One of the schools in New Orleans this year put some of the girls out the prom for the way they were dressed. No spaghetti straps and no plunging neck lines. The parents were up there mad taking up for the kids. I think they should have restrictions on that sort of stuff. I'm an old fashion girl what can I say.
