http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e81/Janicehodge/IMG_0170.jpg Some people thought it was funny to tip cars over - at 4:30 in the morning the police banged on the door to make sure we were alright and had not had an accident. They couldn't have been nicer - but a drive by car tipping has written off my car (£3500 damage) which only had 32000 on the clock and was good for years yet. Meant I had difficulty getting to work for 2 weeks (no real public transport), had to cancel the afterschool clubs I run - mostly to help special needs kids with their homework ( so - loss of earning there). Not to mention the stress! Mind you, I did get a nice letter from the Victim Support Unit offering me a cup of tea and a hug. We are told 2 other cars in our villages roundabout were tipped on the same night - PC Gary said "It's a Crime Wave!" love and kisses, Jan

Oh Jan that is terrible. It's probably kids with nothing better to do. If they only knew what harm they are doing to people when they do stuff like that. At least you know it wasn't someone after you for some reason if there was others done that night........it was random. Hope you can get things back to normal soon. Sending big (((((((((Hugs)))))))) your way.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Funny thing is we were talking about replacing my car - as I am commuting to work now I could do with a more economic car. I would never have got the amount trade in that I got from the insurance company and I pick up the new car tomorrow. (cirtroen C3 TDi in Misty Lilac - such a girlie car!) So in the long run I have ended up with a better car than I thought I could get but have lost my no claims discount. It still classes as my fault even though I wasn't even in the car at the time - because they can't find anybody else to blame.
love and kisses, Jan

In my younger days I had a girlfriend who had a tiny little car. One day when she'd parked at my place, my dh (only my boyfriend at the time), her boyfriend and I went outside and lifted the car and put it sideways in the driveway while she was busy. This was done without damage to the car and was hugely funny (although she didn't share our amusement when she found it). This on the other hand is so inconsiderate of others it is not at all funny. I'm glad it came out okay for you in the end but in the meantime so many people have been put out and the same teenagers who probably did this are going to be complaining about their insurance premiums. I wonder why they're high? Pauline

Boy, I sure hope car tipping doesn't catch on around here. My little guy would be so tempting. Well, Jan, I hope you enjoy the new girlie car. Dorothy |

I remember cow tipping a few years ago. That was stupid. Car tipping is just another form of vandalism. There's always got to be something new. Nice to be offered tea and sympathy..........Nice to end up with a purple car too! The old silver lining thing. Lennie |

Cow tipping, Car tipping.........I never really thought it was such a thing.....am I out of touch or what? I wouldn't worry about someone tipping Dorothy's car, but rather putting it in their handbag and walking off with it! Glad things worked out for you Jan and you got a greener car. Patty

Even Dorothy's car wouldn't fit in her LITTLE bags... My car has such low CO2 emmisions that it has a weensy road tax..ha ha ha ... I collect the wee thing tomorrow - we have all been clearing out the garage so we have somewhere to put it where the passing trade won't be tempted. TRying to think of a name for the car - we joked that God would signwrite which car I should buy. This car is a model called 'Desire' and the numberplate says Y5S which is near enough yes to be funny! The Sat Nav is called Hilary so I am wondering of a name to go with that - Gertrude perhaps? love and kisses, Jan

I remember old outhouses get tipped over around here, and then hoping that no one was in them.

I wouldn't worry about someone tipping Dorothy's car, but rather putting it in their handbag and walking off with it! With prices what they are I always tell people that if I run out of gas I'll just put it my pocket and carry it home. Dorothy |

When I was going to university both my roommates had small cars. We were always late leaving for classes, but got there on time as we always had a place in the front row of a parking lot. We would find 2 volkswagens (then very popular) with some but not enough space between them to park. We would all get out and bounce each car over until we had enough room to park!! I didnt seem to damage cars as we learned how to do it by watching someone move Jeanies car that way! This was in the early 1960s so it was probably a very tame act at the time. I dont know how people would react to it now.
